One time I flew to DFW for work and National ran out of my approved car class. They tried to give me a Caravan and after I told them what I thought about that and they upgraded me to a Silverado for the week.

The truck had mud caked to it in the morning, idk how that happened but I'm really glad I didn't get the mini van!

We had a guy wanted to do a Death Valley run with us but his truck was in the shop. He wanted to go so bad that he rented a 2wd f150 and we dragged that btch 300 miles through DV. On one night we made camp on a ledge, it was about a foot and half high. He didn't want to park the truck on the bottom, he insisted on parking on the ledge with the rest of us. It took almost an hour to pull him up the ledge because he didn't want to damage it. He ended up ripping off the engine skid plate. Which, btw, is made of felt

Well I just posted to let you know whatever trails they run will be full of super slow big trucks and they might have a huge camp area blocked off so make sure you guys plan around them. @sdde4n

I think it was @eccracer104 told me about being in a group that pulled a full-sized truck through Joshua Tree last year. This is why, no matter how eager I am to try to drive my 2WD everywhere, I don't want to be that :anonymous:.

I'm envious. When I was stationed at Pendleton in the early 90's I used to trek out to Julian on the long weekends and then disappear over the mountain into the desert with my girlfriend and my trusty 22R powered 85 SR5. Loved that truck, and loved that experience. Wish I was 2500 miles closer and 30 years younger. Have fun and stay safe!

I do miss Anza. I think I shot like half of those videos. Pretty sure you and the last Anza trip are the reason Lisa wanted her new suspension. And we haven’t been back there since she got it. o_O
