Just picked up a 2016 SR Tundra. Yesterday I realized the Daytime Running lights were not working. They should come on when the truck is in drive.

Anyways, Before I spend a couple of hours at the dealership is there anything I can check myself?

I don't think the SR's have working DRL's. Not the white strip at least.

Parking Brake is off. My owners manual and Window sticker show DRL installed. Looked at the Fuse Box cover and didn't see the DRL Fuse.

I was thinking more of a relay or wire. The lights should come on when the transmission is put into to drive.

Can you post a pic of the headlights? I have 'DRL's but mine are simply the big orange squares, not like on my previous trucks, they had separate white bulbs.

This. Pretty sure Nor7 is right. The DRL on my 2015 SR5 are the large amber lights next to the grill.

Yeah, I have the single white bulb and orange bulb next to the grill.

There is a marking for a 7.5 DRL fuse on the cover.

On my kids Toyota the Instrument gauge lights up when the DRL lights come on. But nothing like that on the SR.

What I really expected are headlights on all the time and auto shutoff when I shutdown. That is how my other cars were setup. Theses DRLs on the Tundra are ok just not what I want. File that under lame complaints.

To anyone that wants their actual headlights on you can actually leave your headlights on and they will shut off after a few minutes of the truck turning off. I've noticed that when I've accidentally left them on. They turn off on command if I hit the 'lock' button twice on the FOB.

Nor7 - Spot on. Two clicks of the FOB "lock" button and headlights turn off when I leave them in the "on" position. Perfect :)
Now how do I kill the annoying alarm?

Stopped by the Dealership this morning. Showed them the problem I was having. We checked out another non LED DRL Tundra and it was the same as mine.

Like Nor7 said. I will just run the truck with the headlights always on.

I'm a bit confused if you are talking about the amber DRL's that come on as soon as you turn on the truck or the LED DRL strip on the Platinum's? I haven't seen a Tundra yet that doesn't have either. Not saying they don't exist, just haven't seen one.

OP and Too Tall want their head light lamps to be their DRL, not the amber turn signal lamps. They are also used to an indicator lamp on the dash. My Platinum has the LED DRLs and no indicator on the dash. On inductors are for normal headlamps, high beams and fogs.
