    I’m having a hard time getting the upper driver side bushing out, it’s hitting the oil filter housing. People that have done this before, how did you get it out?? Need HELP!

    No. Just drain the filter housing, then remove. Actually you don’t even have to drain it, it will just be less of a mess if you do. And when you’re done just reinstall, or put a new filter in and cycle the engine. Then top off whatever amount of fluid it needs.

    The real shitty part is I have to do all of this just to drop it off at the dealer tomorrow for timing chain tensioners and Cam tower seals...

    Little surprised with the timing chain tensioners, but the tower leaks can happen a 5-200k miles.

    Most of the $3000 is the parts and labor for the timing chain tensioners and guides, but since they’re that far I told them to fix the Cam tower leaks also.

    Woooo! Just got the last one out without taking the oil filter housing completely out! Really didn’t want to take it all out. I removed the cap and filter and the bracket on the motor side that goes to the block and it gave me enough space!

    I'm about to finally do my bushings this week; was using a pickle fork really necessary to get the OEM bushings out? I don't have one on hand and don't feel like ordering one just for this.

    Yes, I tried with chisels and could only bend the lip down a bit. This is the kit I got off Amazon that bad the correct size, I think it was around $40. Also don’t be stupid like me and make sure you torque everything down correctly.... I was so tired and aggravated I just got it “tight” with my ratchet and called it good, and it was until I was on top of Imogene trail at 13k feet and one bolt got loose. Dumb way to ruin a brand new set of bushings so I had to replace them again :censored:

    The 3rd pic is the little bracket I removed to get the upper driver side bushing out. Also make a real good mark of how the steering linkage was so you get it back on right, and pay attention to not turn the wheel or you could destroy your clock spring... :anonymous:

    Had some popping coming from the front end so jacked up the front and shook the tire side to side and whole rack was moving with it

    If you dont touch the eccentrics or tie rods you dont need to.
    It doesnt hurt to sweep it on the rack and line it up again if needed. Your tires aint cheap.
