What do you HAUL with your Tundra?

Today I hauled five 8 foot long 2x6s, pressure treated and they were wet too. Along with a bag of joist hangers and a 5lb box of nails. Oh yeah, the tundra handled it like it wasn't even back there.

 

ISX15, correct? Hard to tell for sure with the plastic wrap.

You must have air bags or some other help considering that’s over 3000 lbs with the stand.

Sorry, but I can’t like that post @nuclearlemon. Not only because the weight exceeds your payload capacity by 100%, but also those little 1” straps fall far short of actually securing the engine. A minor frontal collision and it would be the last thing going through your mind.

Driving less than a week. So far I’ve had two hauls. First was just sliders in for Line-X, no tie down required for short trip. First real haul today; king size mattress, box springs, and bed from SC to Ga. Loved the confidence of having a nice big truck to make this trip:

That’s a Thule rack. It doesn’t come black. It’s normally silver. I had mine powder coated satin black.

 

I thought so. Um payload is very weak? I’d love to get one like that but I thought they said like 450lbs while moving. I usually put atleast 4 12’ planks scaffolding cross members and a ladder or two on mine but mine is ugly and loud and I hate it

 

Pallet of bagged mulch a while back.

 

The Thule rack isn’t really designed for heavy payloads. It’s mainly for kayaks, skis, luggage racks and mountain bikes. The main reason I have mine is for my kayaks.

 

It actually does come in Black now. It's the Thule Xsporter 500XTB.

Big ol bales of hay, as well as furniture for all my siblings moving and much much more.

 

I've hauled all kinds of stuff with mine, from paver stones, bags of sand, lawn mowers, washing machines, refrigerators, brush and limbs, and all kinds of furniture. I don't think any of the stuff I hauled exceeded the cargo capacity, though.

 

It weighs idk 50 pounds? Stock suspension, and a flatbed. 16 foot gate. I sure got some funny looks. I strapped the piss out of it tho. Didn't move on it's whole 25 mile 65 mph journey.

 

Wow! Yours is the first flatbed Tundra I've seen in pictures.

I will say for my uses a flatbed is very handy.

This happened yesterday, pull up first in the light, next to me on the left is a black GTO, a newer one, you know the Holden Monaro version, 400hp LS2 V8. Well I need to get in front of him for the next light because the road goes from 2 lanes to one if you go straight like I needed to.

Hold the traction control button, get that Auto-LSD light on the dash. Brake torque it a bit and hit a perfect light. Tires squeal/chirp for a couple feet, got a good launch. Unfortunately he wasn't asleep at the wheel, maybe he saw me look over at him, I dunno, his windows were really dark. I got a good 3/4 car length jump on him before he realized what was going on and punched it. Then he passed me like I was standing still, I backed off at 45-50mph once he passed me, he kept in it a bit longer. I thought, well if this idiot is asleep at the light I can get in front of him, but NOPE!!!

 

The most I’ve ever had in the bed at once was two 7.3 powerstrokes and a 12v Cummins leaving an auction back when my truck was all stock, I drove 15 miles home with the bump stops riding on the axle not fun.

 

It looks like you are pulling a GD Reflection 297RSTS. I'm planning to buy a GD Imagine 2670MK which is slightly lighter than your rig next year.
Is your Tundra stock? Any mods to your Tundra? Any recommendations?

 

Maxing payload at 1500lbs. over the 4680lbs. dry weight of truck.

 

I really debated on the Tundra and a full 1 Ton Dodge or Ford. But I sat down and thought long and hard and decided that the Tundra was the only beast that could haul loads like this one from back in October. I've never looked back!

 

Most of the time is only my bike i haul. But when i carried all the bikes gear and parts. It felt really good. I didnt feel the weight on the truck and the suspension handled really nice.

 

Normally I pull a trailer but sometimes I actually use the bed lol. The Tools are a static load.
