looking for reverse lights and DRL. Seen some on Amazon as low as 16$ for two but lot's of reviews say they have to replace too often. My interior lights, license plate lights, and 3rd brake light on top are all led white. When unlocking/locking or getting in the truck, the drl and blinker lights in back light up amber and would like them to be white, but be amber when turning on blinker or hazard, hence the reason I am looking for LED switchbacks. Anybody have any recommendations lmk please. Not looking to spend more than 100$ for 4 bulbs. Cheaper the better obviously, but don't want to have to replace 4 times a year.

I finally just bought the vleds for $170 because it seems the other lights without a controller will be white with no headlights on, but will revert to amber when the headlights are active.

They look amazing, zero problems after being installed for around a week.

Understood - I'm particularly interested in whether or not they are always white unless you're signaling..?

back - I missed your first post. Keep your panties on. If they are true switchbacks I don't see why they would be any different other than the quality.

So the ones off Amazon were very bright, and white when I turn my lights on. They were not, however, white with parking lights/ DRL lights on. Amazon has great return policy, they said they could have UPS pick it up or I could drop off at local UPS drop off office. I am never home during the week so I had to choose to drop it off myself, but it is on the way to work so no worries. I would pay for VLEDS if it was 170 front and back, but just for the front is a little out of my budget rn.

TBH I'm not too worried about the brightness, my interior lighting is white when I unlock my car but my lights on front and back flash orange. Just want them to flash white when I unlock/lock my car and when using DRL.

Yeah, that's what I had read. The thing that separates the VLEDS is that they have a controller/computer that makes sure they work the way they're supposed to. I'm not aware of another set of LED DRLs/signals that works the way they are supposed to.

I have a friend who just bought a Camry and he has the issue you are having after buying some Amazon lights.. I agree the VLEDS price is pretty high. I hope someone comes out with a product that competes so VLEDS will have to drop their price.

Yeah just tried second set off Amazon. Again bright, but literally said "Xenon white as parking/drl lights" and they were not. I might go with vleds, or just save up some more and look into getting some spider headlights.

Silly question maybe, but would hooking up load resistors possibly fix the problem I have? My lights I bought are supposed to be white when using my DRL but they are not, only white when I turn my lights on all the way. Would load resistors somehow let the light know it is supposed to be white? I know they help hyper flash but heard they help defects too.

No - the load resistors are just there to stop an error or hyperflash. The lights themselves are programmed to be white when the DRLs are dimmed. When your headlamps are on the DRLs are dim, when they are off the DRLs are bright and therefor amber. They are also in bright mode when flashing.

The only way is to have the controller that knows the different between bright/flash and bright/DRL. I was unable to find another company that offered something like this outside of VLEDS. That's why I spent $170, because none of the others are going to work properly. =\

That's what I thought. Might look into becoming electrical engineer this weekend haha. Probably just go with some VLeds though. Just curious what color do they light up when you unlock/lock your vehicle? And did you do anything to your rear blinker lights

I haven't done anything to the rear blinkers - the only thing LED bulbs would do is make it brighter, so I figured it wasn't really worth it. I did swap the reverse lights for 6k LEDs, I swapped all the interior lights and license plate lights for LED. I went with a supposed 6k halogen bulb for my low/high beams, and swapped out the DRLs and fog lights for LED too.

When I start the truck the DRLs are amber for just a second until the controller kicks on and they go white. I believe they flash white when I lock/unlock, but I'd have to double check to make sure.

I do want white DRL, but tbh for the back I just want them to light up white when I lock/unlock. Trying to get rid of all amber except for when I put on turn signal. Don't want some of my car to light up orange and the rest white. Not OCD about anything except my truck lol. Only successfully got my interior led white.
