    1. Lotsa people dont know about off roading but they still want to hit the trail here and there once or twice a year.
    2. They don know and have time to buy a Pro and convert it to long travel.
    3. Money is not an issue for them, 80k for them is like 8k for u. Believe me there are a lotsa people like that I know.
    4. They dont keep cars or trucks for more than 2-3 years or until the manufacturer warranty applies.
    5. They want the truck to look sexy on the street and capable off roading.

My next SUV will be Mercedes G63 AMG. I can buy 3 4runners for that price. Should i take a 4runner and build it like that? Not really.

Raptor has its own place and so is Pro.

But I’m pretty sure you’re not going to go to the 4Runner Forum and brag about how much better and “purpose built” your G63 is than their trucks. Then when they start laughing at you, pretty sure you won’t say they’re just jealous because they can’t afford a Mercedes.

No it would be more like him owning both (Like me) and dropping knowledge on the 4Runner owners who, for the most part, have no knowledge about the G63 and yet think it’s overpriced and not worth the money, and say you would be better off “building” a 4Runner yourself to be closer in comparison to a G63 and “save some money”

I’m not “going here” to brag. I’m here. I’m a Tundra owner and I can offer perspective. This is a great forum. But like most forums, a bit biased and perspective-lacking

What knowledge do you have of your “purpose built” Raptor? That it looks pretty in your driveway? That you can do donuts on dirt? Lmao!! I’m not putting raptors down, just the douchey owners who bought one to look better than their neighbors who drive a Dodge.

I can’t disagree that it’s a great looking truck. And the knowledge I have is that it’s an awesome truck. I have first hand experience. Of both platforms. You?

So with that said. What’s wrong with my 08 2wd? Gonna hop on a tundra site, bash the guy who traded from a raptor then start bashing on someone’s tundra.

Then call everyone here perspective lacking as your making my personal perspective on the f.o.r.d. Acronym truer by the damn second.

Now, please explain how to me how my 08 2wd is not simplistic. It does everything I need it to do, and without fail. It’s hooked to a trailer towing my automotive indulgences around 75% of the time I drive it. It’s a truck. For truck purposes. Simple as that.

You’re not making any sense buddy. That 10%... is that... based on... anything? Or just you talking smack pulling numbers out of thin air? Assuming people you have no clue about know random percentages about their own trucks? Nice

Forget this thread, wont get anywhere. On a side note, how is your truck in winter driving on the highway and paved roads on mountains in Colorado.

I’m saying for someone who owns that truck, of course you’re going to think a Raptor is overpriced. It makes sense you wouldn’t spend more than 10k on a long travel truck. It makes sense that you perhaps, wouldn’t understand why someone would pay 70k+ for a purpose built/gadget filled truck

I didn’t say the Tundra wasn’t worth a shit. I love the Tundra. But owning both, the Raptor does nearly everything better and I would choose it every time. It costs 30k more so I don’t see the argument

I live in the outskirts of a well populated city my commute is all low traffic highway. It does awesome in the winter, i also don’t take it anywhere I don’t feel comfortable in the winter. But again 75% of the time I drive it I have a trailer hooked up. I also have a commuter that does even better in the snow

I wanted a comfortable daily/work truck. It replaced my Ram 2500 Cummins that I’ve had for about 5 years. It is so much more comfortable so I’m loving that part of it. Looks a little better too

Raptor was the reason I bought my first pickup truck but was too much $ so I got the Tundra instead. I supercharged my Tundra and recently got a 50k offer for the truck i spent 45k after the mods.
So the itching bug made me go to the Ford dealership and spend few hours on Raptor.
It handles great like a SUV, tech I have most of in my moded Tundra, exhuast I like BAmuffler better but power was disappointing. Raptor needs a viagra as it lacks in power.

I came back wout buying and turned down 50k offer. I have nothing against Raptor except it needs a V8 which probably will translate to 90k price tag.

A TTV8 would be awesome. But the Raptor performs, imo. It feels quicker and more nimble than the Tundra. Might feel a little laggy compared to your SC’d Tundra though.

Like I’ve said, both great trucks. But you simply cannot expect a truck that costs 30k less to perform as good, look as good, or come close to the tech and creature comforts

    Agree....
I have to give credit where it belongs. Raptor was the reason I started liking the pickup trucks until i saw a TRDPRO in my rearview mirror and my search ended.

I’d love to drive a Raptor. I think they are bad ass. But the price IMO is a total joke for a 1/2 ton truck and most of the shit on the thing will never get used by 80 percent of the owners because there’s no way in hell they are going to go beat on something they can probably barely afford.
If I did buy one I would without question buy a long extended warranty because I have no faith in Fords quality.
I know many Tundra owners on here probably feel the same and would run one all day if the payment didn’t resemble a small mortgage.
    These Raptor threads are ridiculous.:eek2:
