I’ve only owned my 4runner a year lol but considering that 8k included buying the rig, I can’t complain.

I got about $8,500 in mods for 2018 so far. It adds up fast. It doesn't help looking up other people's builds

My 07 T4r was way more fun to drive than my 13. Plus the V8 was great for altitude and the 34’s.

    Fair enough.
and my 4cyl first gen was (and is) the most fun I’ve had in a vehicle. Honestly more fun the the “sports” cars that I’ve had

Not mods, but recent reinvestment and required maintenance. All fluids changed, VC gaskets, new front tint/visors, and rebuilt front end with new shocks on all fours. Soon to get new tires. It’ll all add up to near $5k.

Not bad as this truck has been very low cost for many years outside of tires and fluid changes. Toyota dependability!

I could've paid for another car or paid cash for a SXS+many mods with what I have in my truck. I just deleted my CL posting for the Tundra yesterday. I figure I'll just suck it up until it's paid for then buy a sport sedan that gets better than 12 mpg's hwy and use as a daily.

I just found this sema build for sale on Craigslist in Austin. Makes me feel like my build isn’t that bad now. I’m not a fan of green and red colors side by side.

I think I'm at over 42k unfortunately ..and that's only counting the mods I can think of off the top of my head but there are plenty of other random things over the last 4 years (ie. bought the truck new in Nov '14)

    7,000 TRD supercharger
6,000 BDS lift, ICON coilovers, Atlas leaf packs
    1000 ICON billet UCAs
    700 TC tubular UCAs
    300 Eibach 700lb coil springs
    1,900 first bumper (Relentless Fab)
    1,100 Gobi roof rack
    600 RK Sport hood
    900 White Knuckle Offroad sliders
    1,900 Warn winch
    600 custom bed rack
    1,500 old RTT
    500 bed liner (Line-X)
    1,800 random led lights
3,000 Nitro 4.88 gears and ARB rear air locker
500 Radium oil catch can kit
    500 sPOD kit
    300 Odyssey battery
    700 Dometic fridge
    650 RDS secondary gas tank
    400 UWS storage chest
    700 BudBuilt skid plates
800 first set of Method wheels (18s)
1000 second set of Method wheels (17s)
7,500 in sets of tires (two sets of 37s, two sets of 40s)
    300 locking center console
    100 custom shackles
    1350 in headlights/taillights
    200 Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers

Other random things I can't remember the rough prices I paid but in total are probably another 3k at least: Coachbuilder toe rod ends, tints, seat covers, floor mats, bed mat, rear row floor storage chest from EPS, TRD Pro grill (removed), "Raptor" grill, tow mirrors (removed), Pro Comp flares.

Different strokes for different folks; my build started out down the typical "overland" path but I've started purpose-building it more over the past year to do even more technical trails than before -- the goal is to eventually have a ghetto "Ultra4 poser build", especially after having a taste of putting my full-size truck through some of the Hammers main trails.

My next Tundra build is going to be cheaper beacuse I've been patiently waiting for one to show up on craigslist for under 10k to turn into a dedicated crawler with Super Duty axles.
