Hey! I just got my Tundra today and the dealership wanted 1,500 for the TRD exhaust upgrade. I said no thanks, seemed pretty high to me. So I was wondering for those that got the TRD exhaust separate from the dealership, where did you get yours and how much did you pay?

Congrats on the TRD Sport, that’s what I got. Love it so far. But after researching the price and sound of the TRD exhaust, it was a :notsure: From me.

Keith can custom make the exhaust however you want it! Dude designed the exhaust specially for Tundra’s.

Congrats on the new truck bud! @dirtydeeds makes a solid system. Not to sway you from dirty deeds but I know when I purchased my 2018 last December the toyota parts department offered 20% off all accessories. Doing the install myself I walked out of there with the TRD dual exhaust for $935

Hop on over into the group guy and @dirtydeeds (Keith’s) number is in there. Just tell him you were looking at TRD, and then tell him you heard good things about his system, he’ll explain everything!

Edit, different sizes will allow different sounds out of the exhaust. That’s why we all prefer his system, it’s not a one size fits all. You can tell him what you want and he can do it!

The TRD exhaust is a nice system and plenty of members here have it. However, you loose low end torque and there is some drone with it. My next door neighbor has a PRO with this exhaust, and it does have a small amount of drone at highway speed. It’s not unbearable but it’s there. It’s also a $1000 system where the dirty deeds is $599 with free shipping if you go with steel. Get the 8” if you don’t tow much, if you do go with the 10”.

Keith at DD makes a good product, obviously a lot of support for his systems here in the forum. I ended up going with the TRD and love it. I got mine from a local dealer. If you order online and pick up from the dealer it’s usually a lot cheaper. I ended paying just about $1K after tax. Did the install myself so saved some there as well.
I looked at SparksParts and Roman/ Cool Springs and the prices were lower but after tax and shipping it ended up being cheaper to just buy local.
    Can’t go wrong either way!

There’s nothing wrong with the TRD dual exhaust. I’m not getting any drone, it’s stock on the Pro. The exhaust systems dirty deeds has are also great and very well designed.
So many people buying the group buy, may give you a chance to buy someone’s system they’re replacing. Just a thought.

I think @gosolo hit the nail in the head. I don’t think there’s necessarily a wrong exhaust to buy, I would just say take just a wee but of time and research what you want and then purchase. Because I was like you, all in on the TRD exhaust when I bought mine... glad I didn’t spend $1,200 on it when i’ll be getting a little more noise from my 8” dirty deeds system and a little less drone at highway speeds with it, and it’s going to be significantly cheaper...

So sorry we kind of threw up dirty deeds in tor thread, it’s your truck. Get what you want, we just like you to know there’s options! :bananadance:

The TRD Pro dual exhaust is two pieces:
    - cat back muffler
    - dual tail pipes

I got my tail pipes used from someone on the forum for $200 and I got the muffler new from Sparks Parts via eBay during a 15% off deal for $590. So mine was about $800.
Every once in a while you can find a good price online or find them on Craigslist.

Yea, it's great to get everyone's opinions while I make a decision. I welcome it all. I'm new to having a truck so it's all new to me. Some wisdom from you guys is great to read and include in my decision.

So you got the 8'' for your Tundra? The sound is awesome?

I’ve been toying with the 8” and 6”... that’s the muffler size. The 6” is louder. There’s TONS of YouTube clips, just search dirty deeds on YouTube and you can listen to some different ones. I’ll probably be leaning 8” though because I have two small children and everyone says you can still talk over the 8” system. Quiet on the highway, but roars when you get on it!

Is the 8" extremely loud? How is it on the highway?

I'm still debating between the 8" and 10". Was leaning toward 8" then Keith from Dirty Deeds recommended the 10" if I wanted something to resemble the TRD. I'm torn.

8 is not loud at least for me sounds deep growl on highway with resonator is to quiet for me so I took it off.......I'm running 295 70 18 Nittos Ridge Grapplers since this were put on truck is running a little louder but sounds good I have been playing with resonator off and on about 3 to 4 times now and decided to finally leave it off
