Hey guys I’m new here and i need some help. I recently did a job on my dads 2008 Tundra Limited 5.7. I did his spark plug seals and I went ahead and changed the valve cover gasket as well because he had oil inside where the spark plugs go. as you may know you need to remove everything on top of the valve covers including wire harness. When I was done I put everything back connected harness. Put hoses back. I double checked everything. The same day my dad was driving and the VSC , Traction, and check engine light came on and I don’t know why. I went and checked everything again but I can’t seem to figure it out. Can anybody help me please?

Oh, ok was looking like the infamous AIP fiasco. Have you had a re-flash done?

I'd still lean in that direction. If the switching valves had any buildup in them when they are taken apart or put together it may present these codes. Higher mileage doesn't discount AIP issues, yet.

So what do y’all recommend me do? I didn’t mess with the valves or anything I just replaced gaskets. And what’s AIP?

Air Injection Pump, there was water intrusion they set off the VSC, Trac, and engine light. It put your truck in limp mode. It was mainly on the 2007-2011. They were covering 150k miles or 10 years. There is a bypass kit for this. There's a thread on it, I will see if I can locate it.

If I recall correctly changing both AIP pumps and the switching valves is not cheap, around 1500-3000 depending on whether or not both pumps and valves were replaced. Luckily the warranty extension covers all this at no cost to the consumer as long as you were under 10 years and 150,000 miles.

Best bet, get a code scanner and delete the codes.
