A little this and that...Broke now
I'm definitely interested in the Oct 19th-21 trip. It will be nice to finally meet up with all my SD Tundras and East County peoples! I see a destroyer from Estradas for road food.

I'm a bit curious as to how we earned that designation as well...? :notsure:
Was the Big Bear run a shit show? I thot it went off rather well but maybe I'm missing something? @sdde4n did a kickass job of organizing the SD contingent. If I didn't say it before, I'll say it again, Thank you! Everyone was there on time. We left the parking lot on time in an orderly manner. We arrived in Big Pine Flats right at noon for lunch. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We lined up for the group photo and it was on to Crab Flats. We got there with plenty of daylight left to pitch camp and enjoy the rest of the evening.:drunk::proposetoast: :hungry:
For a good sized group, I thought everyone moved along nicely. If anyone didn't have a good time or was disappointed somehow, I sincerely apologize, it certainly wasn't my intent.

Naw, no worries, @BestGen; our SoCal group is ¡muy bueno! :) As far as I know, everyone had a great time. Even passengers! (Even Raptor hang-rounds!)

osidepunker Alex pops in here sometimes, so we're aware of the trips he and those SGU guys do with their built Tundras. When he intimated that we couldn't do that with our current set-ups and driving skills... especially in LARGE SoCal group..., well, it was obviously true, and isn't worth arguing about.

I think anyone checking in here wants to come out and play. We're all having a great time, learning together, and if it keeps being this fun, we'll get to the point where we go out in smaller groups and work on skillz (a few already doiing this, between the Big Meet-ups).

If @osidepunker joins us, he'll see we've mastered to comraderie and a bit of the beer-drinking. We want to make sure newcomers know the Big Meet-ups are inclusive and an opportunity to come out with stock trucks and get a feel for what's possible.:mudding: :curls:

I really appreciate you lending your expertise here on the forum, and in the wild, to bring us along!

The shit show comment someone made was referring to the crazy number of trucks and was said jokingly. Definitely not towards you or anyone else on the last run. From what I’ve seen and read you did a great job on the last run.

Definitely not toward you or the big bear meet brotha  you guys did a great job and it was a good time. It was just a running joke with Alex joining in a large group of trucks at once.

@BestGen You did an awesome job leading the group and kept it from becoming a mess. @sdde4n got the SD crew on the road and on time. Thanks again. I’ll see you guys on the next run

BTW. All I know about four wheeling is: you put the truck in 4 wheel, step on the skinny pedal and try not to run into anything that you can't go over.

haha! Sorry homie, I wasn't commenting on your organizational skills; I wasn't even there. It's just that I've been on many runs with large numbers of trucks and its always a cluster. Guys get lost, guys break parts, dudes don't have tools to change tires, someone gets low on gas, you have to stop at every turn for an hour, too much radio chatter etc etc etc

Not that I'll never go on another large meet. I would. But its not as fun as a small group of trucks exploring. Here check this out, this is a Big Bear run in 2013 that @dirtydeeds set up:

    20130831_113753.jpg 20130831_123401.jpg 20130831_105557.jpg

Haha! You have me all wrong. I love wheeling with n00bs. It's fun watching them learn and realize what their truck can do. I'm always the first one out there to spot someone or lend tools. Ask anyone who's wheeled with me. But I prefer my n00bs one or two at a time LOL

I've been on a campaign the last few months to convince the guys on tundras.com that you don't have to have a fully built truck to wheel with us. and we aren't out there bombing trails like trophy trucks all the time. We've wheeled with stock 4runners, 2wd tundras, and even rental F150s.

But I'm getting smarter about how to organize runs so everyone has a good time. The number one rule is HAVE GOOD TIRES. I can't stress this enough. Also, have tools to change them lol You'd be surprised on how many guys don't bring simple tools

Our trips are all about exploring remote areas, disconnecting from society, glamping, and all around good times with good friends

I'm no n00b to wheeling. Just new to this truck when wheeling. But I have recovery, tools, even tire plug kites with my compressor.
