Nice job! I wonder is there any downfall to making the openings extend further back under the seats?

It is possible but keep in mind the farther you go back the bottom slopes upwards and also factory sound deadening is a little thick, so you might have to scribe your side pieces..

What’s a conservative height/depth for the compartments? Your boxes look deeper than the ESP plastic ones (3-5/8”). Nice work and thanks for compiling this info!

Will removing the foam cause more noise to come up into the cab?

esp came out with a long box for under seat that goes all the way across, it replaces the two middle seat rails. a little pricey though.

i was thinking about one, but i’m not sure...i like this solution a lot

That’s a million times cooler than any piece of plastic. I can see your a wood worker. Good job. Just needs to be stained to match that beautiful leather;)

Someone posted a gun "clam-shell" case and how he created a storage with half of it mounted under the seat without altering the floor board, just unhinged the case leaving the foam in. Tie Wrapped to back of seat rail and let the under side of the seat be the lid. He used for general storage but would work for guns as well.

Love the creativity and practicality of your mod. The pans look a little shallow but there are plastic bins that can be found and serve the same purpose. Very cool and thanks for sharing.

Very nice! Wish I still had all my tools and could’ve done the same at the specs I want. It’ll cost more for me to buy the tools now so I just bought the ESP storage. Great work!

The pans aren't that shallow You can only go so deep or else the seats will hit. I believe only about 3-4 inches. It serves my purpose for what I want to carry. I didn't want plastic bins because I want them to be more durable then that. Plastic will Crack over time.

Did you end up securing the pans to the floor at all? And can you give me a measurement of how deep those pans were? I like your idea!
