For a $20 kit I didn't think it was worth trying to get creative.

Top setting on billstein shocks up front and 1/2 inch plate on top would be almost 3 inches ?

A half inch on top is an inch of lift I think. Bilstein 5100 on top setting is 2.4?

I realized a day before my install that I didn’t have a carrier bearing drop kit. So I bought a spacer from Ace. It was like $1 or something. It’s still on my truck. 949BACB1-ADE5-471F-B46F-2F561D63BC93.jpg

Got a GoPro? Stick it under there and watch your carrier bearing flop around. You will understand why full contact on a sheet metal part matters, and maybe spend $20. :D Imo..

    Nope, still on gassers.:)
I stacked fender washers on mine, thinking I could distribute the force like the available spacers do. Maybe it did, but $20. Lesson learned for me.

    So
The Toytec should work better since they are a better fit or shape for that area right

I always thought those seemed like a good solution. Just never inquired about thickness. I wouldn’t want to stack shims, but maybe fine?
Its probably fine, lowered or not it’s worth seeing how much it moves around. That is why I feel the way I do.

I have similar question, at what point do you NEED a carrier drop kit? I have OME 2.5” inch lift with 315/70 (34.4in) tires so about 4 inches total lift.

When you feel a slight vibration, usually happens with a load on like starting out slowly up a steep hill.

Thanks! I haven’t noticed anything yet I’ll have to pay attention to see on my way home in the morning. I do feel a ‘clunk’ sometimes when slowing down but I had my gears done when I had the lift done, so not sure what that’s related to, could just be the slight variance in gears and transmission?

    Shocks metal washers will work.

Pull apart a car rear shocks and find the metal cylindrical washers for a perfect fit.
