Colorado is getting almost as bad. Not sure my permanent retirement home will be built here in CO. I'm thinking in the next 5 months this will be decided for me.

Sorry to hear that ... always thought that Colorado might be a nice state to settle in. Guess there's always Texas or Arizona ...

Nah. Say what u will but we are and will always be a pro-firearm state.

I'm not a fan of our newest ammo restriction, but I'm not on either side with background check process for private party sales.

Nope, have too many liberals coming in and bringing in the liberal ideology with them.

This past Governor election said it all. Everything in the state was Red except Denver. They put back in the seat the same ass that pushed the 15 rd mag ban, and he even stated he F'd up and has not fixed it.

Now that MJ is legal in Colorado, it has even brought in more liberals and all the trash with it. Real Estate has gone up so much it is crazy. Good for me, so when I sell my properties and move, it will be a cash out.

    I would suggest Northern AZ.

I don't know Sean. I moved here from CA in 97' and it has changed a bit. CA has changed a bunch.

I'm not a fan of the 15rd restriction that isn't being enforced. At least we have some good Sheriffs out there.

I am a fan of background checks for any sales. It is easy, usually 30 minutes that can restrict someone that shouldn't have a weapon in the first place. I know a few people that work/own gun shops. The CBI background checks work and are used more than one might think.

So glad I don't live in Cali! I'd be considered a criminal!! One on me at all times, one in my truck, one in my wife's car and two in my home. Not to mention a nice collection of knives (y'know for castration and the like after some poor SOB tries to rob me or my family.....and my future daughters boyfriends) :infantry:

I don't mind background checks so much. What I do mind is checks required for "transfers" that technically make it illegal to loan a buddy a gun or in some cases even let him hold it. It happens all the time in a hunting situation. I always bring my rusty trusty 870 Express to my duck camp. More times than I can count I have loaned it to someone to hunt because their B_____ won't cycle. They were often in another blind from me. Technically a "transfer" under many proposed laws and therefore subject to a background check. I believe it is the current law in Washington State.

Honestly, I do agree with background checks. It does keep things somewhat safe, but criminals will ALWAYS find another way to get a gun (you can build a gun using about $30 of supplies from Home Depot) not to mention some disturbed people who are as much a danger to others as they are themselves. As for those anti-gun libs, if you don't like guns, don't get one. Hell, legal gun owners in the US put together make a nice sized army with PLENTY of guns and ammo left over. If we were a problem, people would know about it.

I saw that 9th Circuit ruling yesterday. Not surprised at all. CO has changed a lot since I got back here in 04. Was still a red state. Durango has had a lot of out of staters move there. You can guess which state they are probably from. The "new" folks in Durango now want to ban the coal fired train that tourists come from all over to ride. Evil coal is contributing to climate change. Train needs go. Screw up one state, move on to the next. Wy is good. AK the best. Outside of Denver/Boulder and a few mt tourist towns, CO is pretty much red. Most Sheriffs don't give a rats ass about stupid new feel good gun laws that get passed here. Most are totally unenforceable even if they wanted to enforce them. CO is still good. For now. I don't mind background checks even though they almost never make any difference at all. It's all about who gets to appoint the next US Supreme Court justices. Think about it.

Thank GOD I'm not up in Denver with the rest of you CO guys. A lot less to do out here in the boonies but at least it's died in the wool red. Though real estate out here in Burlington (population 4200) is just outright dumb too.

Burlington, CO!! Zack , for what it's worth, Denver is in the boonies just like LA. To me , large cities are the boondocks. I just googled Burlinton and found this. Way cool. I may even drive all the way to Burlinton to let my grandkids take a ride:http://www.kitcarsoncountycarousel.com/

Before Sean and Brian can chime in, "I know, off topic". Although Kit Carson County may allow you to open carry within reason.

CO is an open carry state....
Denver has different ordinaces for the City of Denver though. I don't live in Denver ...but I never open carry...just asking for the wrong type of attention. CCW FTW

Agreed. In a lot of places it's basically asking to get LE called on you even though it's legal.

I only open carry when I'm hunting. Nice to have a Ruger single six 41 Mag on your side. (Yes a 41Mag.). You really have to know your local gun regs. Especially if you ever travel thru a blue state. Always check gun regs before you travel. @Sean266 ,What's Thornton regs for example? Thornton is just a few miles north of Aurora where I live for those of you here that don't know. Could be night and day difference even here.

The ones that do it are the ones that give us guys a bad name, IMO. They're so egotistical and have to shove it down everyone's throats like a dick....I enjoy my guns and am just as pro firearm as anyone, but there's a way to be discreet about it.

Yeah I like that it's legal, but personally don't want to make others sweat bullets (see what i did there) when there isn't any reason to. Plus I don't want to be the first target for bad guys.

Bad guys would be my first target whether I'm concealed or not. I'd never be their first target. Just sayin. I'm not PC, never will be. Obviously I don't open carry when I go shopping even if legal. If legal , I don't give a rats ass about someone sweating a little because they are Goober snow flakes. That's their problem. Not unsual at all in AK to open carry outside of Anchorage and Fairbanks. No one is worried about "bad guys", why, bad guys if stupid enough don't last long there. It's all about having a pair and that little thing called the 2nd amendment. "Bad guys" prefer gun free zones.

You are pretty fired up (did it again) over the bad guys fraise... if you are in a bank, pistol on your hip in the open, and a "bad guy" walks in looking to rob it or hold hostages, who do you think he may see first. You may give up your advantage by letting him know you are armed. Just an example. And it could translate to several situations. I do what I want to do based on what I think is good for me my family and I don't like to spook the snowflakes.:) But if someone wants to open carry it doesn't bother me in the least and if it's legal in thier state, it's thier right to do so. A majority of the country isn't like Fairbanks, so you have quite a bit of fear from good people over guns. For me, if concealment means not scaring mommys and thier kids, I don't mind keeping it hidden.

    :rofl::rofl:

    Shots fired!

2nd bold- OR you become the victim. How? Easy. Open carried = first target to be shot. Who gets shot first at banks with armed guards? The guards do...why? To eliminate the threat.

Hell, I avoid conflicts when carrying. A few years back, I observed some highly intoxicated guy in a store. He made eye contact with me, walked by and said "what?" In effort to receive a response from me. I ignored his stupid drunk ass and went about my marry way. Not only did I have my family with me, but last thing I want is to expose a firearm in a stupid, avoidable street fight and be seen as the instigator because I was carrying

I almost never open carry. Correction, I never open carry. I do not own a holster that goes outside the waistband. The last weapon I open carried was my 1911 while cutting wood. Pretty sure that weapon would not have fired if needed to after spitting wood all day

For me, I look at it like like this:

-Making someone else that doesn't like weapons nervous is not my MO. I have better things to do with my time than answer a few questions from a LEO since someone called it in..

-Much like the Spec Ops world, they do not send in a marching band to notify they are coming. Secrecy is preferred, deadly if discovered. I would rather let someone think I am not wearing anything.

Not fired up at all. Far from it. I'm just laughing at how PC/soft people have become. I lot of people do not cave to PC snowflakes. I rarely ever open carry in public. Don't need to, don't want to. Aurora, CO isn't like Adel, OR where OC is totally normal. Banks??? Not sure how many banks allow open carry. Let me guess, probably none. Bad guys KNOW uniformed bank guards have guns and still want to risk their lives robbing a bank because they want the money, not to randomly kill sitting ducks in a gun free zone. I guess it all comes down to what part of the country you've lived in or live in. There are numerous places in this country where people (with kids in tow) won't even bat an eye or faint if they see someone dining/pumping gas/etc with a hand gun in plain sight. Obviously won't see much of that on PC left coast and upper central/upper east coast. It's much more common than you think in the heartland states. You know, the states with the lowest crime rates and least amount of PC gun control laws, and PC snowflakes. It's a statistical fact (and quite obvious to some folks) that bad guys are attracted to gun "free" zones. There is a restaurant here in CO and the waitresses are armed, you can be armed if you want CC or open carry. Guess what. Hasn't been robbed and won't be. Don't know of too many bad guys who will still rob a restaurant knowing that numerous customers were seen to be "visibly" packing heat. Give me a break. The owner is aware that WE have become too PC and that the 2nd Amendment is being chipping away at piece by piece. Hence the PC free zone diner. There are a lot more places/towns that are still PC free zones. A lot. Go to Eastern Oregon. Eastern CO. Very few similar businesses (if any) get robbed. I don't completely buy into the "if you open carry you die first THEORY". NRA has plenty of stats that say otherwise. Eating at a open carry allowed diner or in a small town mom and pop ranch supply/ hardware store is not even remotely comparable to a Spec Ops mission. Sheesh

    Just sayin.http://www.shootersgrillofrifle.com/
