I have a 2008 limited with the Nav system. My back up camera has stopped working. Have been told from Toyota that the Nav system is at fault because it powers the back up camera. They have tried replacing the camera, but no help. I do believe the Nav system is at fault. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Do you like the Nav?

I'm wondering if you could get the rear view mirror camera setup like in my 12?

The nav is ok, not great. would like a updated newer kind but I know how that goes. How is your 12 set up for back up camera?

The camera view is in the rear view mirror instead of a NAV unit.

I usually don't use the factory NAV units.

Factory bud. I like it better than the Nav head unit. I keep my eyes on the three mirrors.

Welcome! Maybe consider an aftermarket unit? It's on my list of things to get, just not at the top.

Was looking into buying a 2013 tundra dc, the biggest hang up is the lack of a rear view camera...
Is the a way to have one installed in the rear view mirror?

I've got the same setup with the rear view mirror, its just going to come down to cost. If you've got a touch screen radio that has an input for a camera then it's a no brainer, otherwise you're looking to either get a new radio or buy a rear view mirror with a screen built into it. My $.02, I prefer a bigger screen and thus the head unit showing the camera.

OR, get the setup that my Dad bought for his old diesel excursion which has a camera that straps/bolts across the rear license plate and comes with it's own screen. It's a cheaper solution but I personally don't like the look of it.

Thanks for the reply Yeah I want it to be like a factory install, I'm used to it in the mirror so that is why I suggested the mirror. Plus don't need or want to replace the radio. Also the trucks bed would need to be sprayed... Rhino lining or is there a better option on the market these days?

Depends on what you do. Alot of people around me (gulf coast) are doing a carpet lining now but i still prefer a spray in. I'm not up to date with the latest and greatest but I'd say Rhino is a good brand go with.

same. I have both rear view and front (aftermarket) camera in the mirror. Very convenient but a bit small compare to main unit.

Hey bud, did that come with the truck or did you just plug and play?
That's one of my future mods. I'm almost positive mines plug and play. (Has the harness under the bed, just haven't had a chance to look in the overhead console)
