I live in wilmington. Down close to carolina beach. Lost power 6am this morning. Rain has subsided some. Small trees down all over but not the worst i've ever seen. No flooding in my neighborhood yet.FB_IMG_1536938665575.jpg FB_IMG_1536938686818.jpg

Sorry for a really late update. Family is all safe and the physical house is perfect. Yard and neighborhood are a mess.

Toyhauler roof has been compromised in multiple places and I've got firewood for days.

Our town is in pieces. Docks and boats everywhere. No power for 3 days and looking like 5-7 more. I am very lucky, many others in my town have a lot more to worry about.

It will take months for Carteret County to come back from this one.

The American flag was naturally left up all night during the battle for Ft McHenry in 1814. Francis Scott Key memorialized that scene in the Star Spangled Banner. I'm thinking that flag was deliberately left up in defiance to Flo! That's what I want to believe anyways......

My town dodge a massive bullet

We've had a handful or trees down and some rain and light wind but nothing close to what it could've been

I lost power yesterday for about an hour and my backyard is puddling but the rain is supposed to finish moving through by midafternoon today

Sorry just getting back to you. Been out with the saw all day. Trees down all over. No gas anywhere. Food is sparse. People running out of gas for generators. Nobody can get back if they evacuated. All rds closed into wilmington. Its a mess. Luckily i loaded up. Line crews have been repairing power lines slowly. Hats off to those guys. Tough job.

We’ve been loaded and ready to go but our end of the County wasn’t anything close to our neighboring County that has many parts underwater. Our Swiftwater teams never left the station. Rains finally subsided here. Now it’s just time to see what the rivers do.

i'll forgive the tardiness of your reply.

Sadly, roads are worse today than yesterday - Wilmington is only accessible by boat or helicopter right now. After seeing the photos of the lines for gas & food, I'm somewhat glad i didn't make it back. Still wondering what to do about it all - i've not had an update on my house since yesterday and the rains were kinda crazy today I think.

Duke energy did text me to tell me that they think power will be back at my house tomorrow night... that's like 2 weeks earlier than i expected - tough job indeed and those dudes work their asses off at times like this

Ive got partial power in my neighborhood, wierd though cause there's seperate grids in my neighborhood. Roads are a disaster. I'd wait till Tues or Wed to even attempt to come back. Bring gas/supplies with you, you're gonna need it. Play it safe. Your better to everyone alive than dead. The rains will let up in the rest of the state hopefully soon.

Beaufort NC. Still no power. Cleaning up debris. Looting is prevelant right now. Lines for gas and food are nuts.

I'm setup well with all supplies and could sustain another 7-10 days if needed. Report is that power is restored 2 towns over. Maybe 2-3 more days. Still have running water.

Overall doing very well for the situation. If you're local to me and need help, reach out.

Agreed sir. I would have left mine out for the exact reason stated (going to battle, defiance of Flo) but my flag pole is loud as shit during the wind and drives my mutt nuts.

Hunker down, protect your family and stuff, prayers to you. Looting is the line being crossed. If I could get you these signs I saw when down helping with Harvey I would.

Douche! The channel said “he was exhausted and on grass” which was why he was doing like he did. The other folks were on pavement. Well fake news, take two steps to your left and stand on the pavement.

    Power restored.

Too many days camping at home. The camper was damaged, otherwise I would have just slept in there. Instead I slept in an 85 degree house.

The camper generator ran everything in the house except the HVAC.

My neighbor got a tree crew here to address his 8-10 downed trees. They'll be pulling the 3 off my camper tomorrow. 20180918_174149.jpg 20180918_174146.jpg
