I wanted to get suggestions about MGM paint correction.

Has anyone had to get a sizeable section of their MGM truck repainted? Or the entire truck? If so, who did you use and how was the color match? I've heard that the metallic paints are tough to match.

The spot I'm looking to get fixed is definitely too large for a simple factory 1g3 touch up kit.

    Thanks in advance.

I had a taco repaint due to a problem I had seeing a dodge neon. Paint did not match. Bugged me so I sold the truck. The repaint had more flake.

There is a certified Toyota collision center near me that does paint. Probably mucho dinero but might be worth it to get it done right the first time.

A good body shop will blend into any panels that will be seen next to each other. Like a fender to door or hood to fender. It also depends on where damage is. Sometimes you can get away from blending the panel next to it. It's tough to match paint exact. To many things come into play. But if done the right way it shouldn't be noticeable. You have any pics.

You'll have to zoom. Sorry. Previous owner said he tried to fix a rock chip. He only did a small section and you can see the edges (square in shape) around where the new paint / clear coat is.

The shop I work at we would strip that off the fender then blend up the fender and into the door.

Looks like the clear is failing and possibly the paint underneath.

About how much would it cost if you don't mind me asking? Just a ballpark would be fine.

Just guessing here because I don't deal with the numbers part but around 400 to 600. With labor and materials.

I appreciate the expertise. Thank you! Anything in particular I should ask / be on the look out for so I can tell if the guys I get quotes from know what the hell they are doing? Would the badges have to come off? Bumper and headlights removed? Is the type of clear coat they use important?

If they do the fender and door everything comes off. Headlight, inner fender, badges on fender and door. Door handle, window seal. Seen to many jobs where they try to tape around those things and it ends up looking like shit. Probably the upper bumper pad and the little trim piece below headlight. Reason being you have to clear all of it. Not just the painted part. We use Axalta Cromax products and it's more but better. Not real familiar with others. Hope this helps.

You bet. Hope all goes well. Doesn't hurt to ask around about different bodyshops. Or references.
