I've talked with a couple of people and looked at the vehicles they drive, I'm thinking I will be happy. A plus is they dont spray paper thin like OEM paint.

Well, we finally got some word yesterday about the car port. The hang up with the city initially was they thought it was one of these $400 plastic covered with steel tubing.
We explained we were building this to match the house, same pillars, same siding, shingles and color matched. Some more, well we're not sure. Then something about the 25' rule. Some more we're not sure. Then they said submit the plans and pay the permit, we'll let it happen.
My wife found company that can do it for around $6000.00. I dont like the around $6k, I am having them firm that up a lot.
So hopefully after this trip to the desert, we can start having it built.

For clarification I want a solid price for the build.
Dont tell me around $6k then the price ends up being $8k, for me that's a big difference.

Just heard from the body shop.
    3 doors being replaced
    2 fenders replaced
    Roof will be replaced
    PDR to
    Rear fenders
    Tailgate
    1 door
Had a total of six gel coat fractures to the topper, thank goodness for paying the extra money for the 500lbs reinforced roof. It can be fixed.
New total with 2 supplements almost $18k

I posted some progress pictures in the Live thread, I just got from the body shop. Progress is being made! The Tundra would be a BA buggy as far as looks.

8 or 10 weeks. I will be gone for most of that time. It should be done by the time I come home.

Yes sir, it sucks! That's why we have insurance I reckon.
I'll have a car port for the next time, even if it's another 18 years before it happens

Well my wife just told me that the city changed there mind about the carport. They are sticking to the 22' rule. Now I need to figure out a plan B.

    That totally sucks.

We can build a carport at my place and store that black beauty here. Please leave a set of keys so I can move it and wash weekly...

My sister is stationed down there, and she called around and found a shop that could have it down by the time he gets out of the Warrant Officer Canidates Course, Oct - Nov
I got to bragg about my sister. Currently she is the USARSO Command Warrant Officer WO5. After the first of the year she will be the Commandant of the Warrant Officer Course. She is one hell of a soldier, harder than woodpecker lips!

I heard from a little birdie, that my truck may be ready for Pick up tomorrow. My boy is taking his Tacoma back to them in a couple of weeks to fix a couple of things. After the Queen put the fear of god in them they are putting extra attention into my Tundra.
