    Trying to decide between a 18 1794 4wd and a 19 platinum 4wd
Can get the 1794 for about 2500 less than the platinum
Prefer the exterior of the platinum , but unsure of what I prefer interior wise. The 19 is a non flex fuel. Are the newer flex fuel tundras still having issues? My 10 flex fuel has had a few issues with high alc % reading even though I never ran e85 and never plan to
Does the 1794 leather hold up well to kids?
Also curious about the flex fuel engines. You couldn’t get non flex fuel engines in 4wd trucks for years but looks like all 19 4wd in Texas are now non flex fuel..:
    Anyone have any wisdom!

I am looking at the same trims - 2018 for both - trying to get a deal....
I prefer the 1794 as the interior is much "happier" than the grim black interior of the Platinum.
Also the 1794 has all the options included whereas the Platinum may need to pay for sliding roof.

Don't know about FFV because we can't get any in CA.
Stuck with just plain old gassers...

I love my leather of theb1794 .Has held up well.. I just put mink oil on it and no issues . On the suede part, I use the same stuff that's to be used on Ugg shoes .

I have a platinum and love it. It had every option of any 1794 I have seen and dont think that has changed in the recent years. The seats are great but only available in black, I do like the brown leather in the 1794 but have seen one in person and the suede was a little dingy but that may be from poor care. I do not care for wood grain or chrome so other than the cool colored seats...the 1794 was a no go for me. If you want to dechrome the exterior or de-wood the inside it'll cost you much more than the 2500 price difference. Its got a ton of chrome, even the wheels. If you don't mind chrome then I say go for it. But as far as options and mechanics, they are the same truck. Just different aesthetics.

Oh I didn't see that the 1794 is an 18 and platinum is a 19. I'd get the 19 for just that little bit more. Better resale , and maybe any little tss bugs from 18 may be worked out?

I have less than 600 miles on my 2018 platinum ... no 1794s on the lot when I bought ... I do like the added chrome and the color of the interior on the 1794 ... I don't know if that would have changed my mind or not ... the truck I got was the only Vintage Brown one on the lot (and in the area) ... we did do a 'bat' turn into the dealers lot when we saw the color ... would have been a hard pick if the dealer had both in brown ... good luck with whichever one you get ... I really enjoy my truck and you will too, I'm sure ...

19 Platinum...id never own a 1794 i hate the interior. If you dont like black have the dealer throw in some different color leather seats of your choice

I prefer the more modern looking Plat interior/exterior, not a fan of chrome or brown woodgrain but it’s what you like.

Like the Platinum exterior but fell in love with the 1794 interior.

It's easier to swap grills and bumper parts, so I went 1794. I have all the parts I need except the SSO slimline bumper and some Squadron Pros before I swap everything over.

I guess I was wondering more about pros/cons of flex fuel. I know in the past you couldn’t supercharge the flex fuels. I never plan on running e85 but are there any benefits to the flex fuel system?

Once they get tuning sorted out for FFVs, if they do an E85 tune for supercharged trucks it'll be a nice boost in power.

Not sure why the price difference I was going to get the 1794 but didn't like the suede in the seats I figured once it got dirty would be a bitch so I went platnium both are great

No real benefit to FFV based on my brief research here.

I agree. I couldn't find any good reason to even look for one.

I never understood why toyota made some regions flex fuel. All Texas platinums 4wd in 2018 were flex fuel but looks like all 2019 platinum 4wd are regular. Maybe the government got rid of stupid “environmental” laws...

If I had a choice, I'd get non FFV for "approved" 10k oil intervals.

Platinum all the way. I like the style and look of the '94 interior, I just couldn't make my self like the orange seats. If the '94 seats were black, or grey, maybe, but I also hate the chrome wheels. Whited out my Platinum chrome trim.
