I was at the dealer this morning to pick something up and saw this: a 2019 1794 that comes with these chrome wheels - covers that snap over the regular wheels. All I could say is "WHY?" I can't think of any reason why anybody would pay extra for this.

Are you sure they are "snap-ons?"...the wife's "14 Highlander, Limited AWD as a outer "hub cap" glued onto the steel wheel...I didn't notice until a few months after we bought it...I was thoroughly pissed...especially after we had paid cash for it.

    I bet those don't "snap-off"...

One of a few reasons we bought a 2018 Honda Pilot Elite over the Toyota Highlander limited platinum. The lower model highlanders had actual wheels but the wife wanted all the bells and whistles. I couldn't believe it has caps on the highest trim level.

The tundra has had those wheels optional on the 1794 for years. Yes I agree they look very cheap, and basically like hubcabs lol.

Quite a bit of manufacturers do this. I previously purchased an F150 (07) and a Ram 1500 (14) and both had "chrome" wheels when they were only chrome clad. When washed with a pressure washer, you could hear how hollow the wheels are.

I prefer the ‘spinners’ we used to rock on the south coast of St. Barts way back when. Made the clams steamy.
