nowadays you can get a pretty good phone for $600. honestly people just buy iphones for the name considering that most of the technology that apple is just adding to their phones now has been in other phones for at least 5+ years

I really want a Galaxy S10 when they come out, but at the current prices I'll probably find an unsold 8 somewhere and buy that lol

A lot of the Apple Iphone updates roll out fast for good reason.................to fix them. Apple was also sure smart to deliberately build in "slow down" to get you to buy their latest "overpriced for what you get phone". That Apple watch is kind of cool! That EKG function would be quite handy.

The older I get, the more I despise loans. I have my mortgage payment still, but am hoping to have that knocked out in 2019. I am thankful to be in the position that I am.

Thought about a new phone but the one I have does everything I need it to at 1/10th the cost of that new IPhone. Even at $1k+ the fools will be lined up to buy.

I don’t finance phones. I usually repair them, and when they finally take a dump, I just buy two model older versions.

Tuesday I had the screen on a 6S replaced for the mistress. Cheap and easy. I’m on a iPhone SE right now. 400.00 new. Has all the same software as the 6S. I’m good.

You can get a Samsung S9 for under 500.00. That’s a great deal for a killer phone.

Phone prices are high, but aren’t we glad not to need a bag to carry a GPS, flashlight, tablet with service, wallet, etc. Start adding that up...

I like my iphone (old 6S): I do everything with it: phone, emails, GPS maps, music/podcast, house stuff (ring/nest/arlo/alarm), camera etc. I'll probably update and join the sheep ;)

The whole Apple/Android argument is ridiculous. Buy what you believe is right for your situation. Apple makes outstanding products. Their phones are no exception. Sure, they may not be for everyone.
I own (not rent) an X and I love it. I have owned Android platform phones and I never really liked them. It doesn’t mean they were a POS, they just weren’t for me.
People that own IPhones are not trying to be “hip or different” or whatever else has popped up on this thread.
They buy them for the same reason we buy Tundras. They believe in and have confidence in them.

But yes! 1400 is INSANE. I better start saving right now..

I use the hell out of my credit card. Put pretty much everything on it. But, I pay it off every month. With the rewards we get from that, we have taken some pretty nice trips for next to nothing. I have no issues doing that.

BTW, batteries are replaceable. Sure they don’t have a cute little slide off cover to access but they can easily be replaced with a small amount of time and skill..
