After purchasing my first tundra this weekend Iv been doing some research on here for upgrades and mods, but figured I would ask. What is the first mod you did or what is one mod you wish you did first.

Really looking for some Must DOs

It all depends on what your needs/wants are

My shoes/boots are always muddy especially around hunting season so waterproof rubber mats were first and foremost.

After that came the bed mount bottle opener, 3/1 lift with tires, LED interior lights, now I’m working on wheels.

ESP under seat storage, spray in bed liner, tailgate extender, color matched door handles and mirror covers, lift, tires. All in that order, at least that’s my list..... but first mod would be a total repaint to Super White and then follow above list.

The first thing you should do is get a second mortgage on your house.

    Second, everything suggested above!

Here is what I did over the past 2 months of ownership in order of importance to me: 1) spray bed liner (from dealership) 2) Window tint $400 3) Level the front $500 4) 2018 LED headlight conversion with LED Fogs $1200 5) Katzkin leather seats (factory match) $1400 6) Bak MX4 bed cover $800 7) Husky floor liners 8) LED interior lights

    And I'm done for now!

My truck came with spray in bed liner and fender flares. I started with window tint, door sill protectors, bed mat, husky floor mats and LED interior lights, cheap mods. Dealership threw in LED fogs so I purchased 19 LED headlights and harness $700. Color matched bulge and surround $500. Waiting on 19 Pro skid plate then I’m done. Maybe

    Flux capacitor!
Here are few simple mods that help a lot for daily use.

    1. Center console organizer. They make an upper tray option and a lower divider.

    2. Either husky or weather tech floor mats.

    3. Seat storage under back seats. They have a simple plastic insert with compartments or a full metal lockable storage.

    4. Center console lockable safe. Great if you like to have a weapon in the vehicle or valuables to lock away.

    5. Change out your interior lights with leds. Vleds has some great leds but they do cost more upfront.

    6. If you don’t like chrome emblems you can do black overlays on your Toyota exterior badges or you can use plasti dip on them.

    7. Rear TRD swaybar is nice if you want to eliminate some of the rear body roll. Should cost $250 for the parts give or take. Install is only about 20 min.

    8. Front windshield visor will keep your truck cooler and help save your dash over the long haul.

    9. Tint your windows.

    10. Alarm.

I could keep going but I think this gives you a few ideas. Now go spend that money on mods!!!

I am in SE Wi, yeah that would make sense though I should have thought of htat coming out of the car scene back in the day.

So far it cam with the trd sport set up.
    -Sway bars
    -trd exhaust
    -trd air filter
    -led fogs and headlights
    -spray in bed liner
    -floor mats
-all chrome is color matched already from factory
alot of other misc. that you guys recommended also.

So guess i will be looking into seat covers and driver/ passenger side tint.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE SUGGESTIONS

BTW I can tell that you guys here are all really friendly and I am sure there are some bad eggs but coming from different car and truck scenes you guys seem to be pretty helpful and not toxic like the others so thats a plus!

I don't have a garage. It wasn't the first thing I did but if I did it all over again I would have the truck ceramic coated right after purchase. Helps protect the paint from weather and sun, and cleaning it is a lot easier now as well.

I 2nd the ceramic; especially if you’re not going to garage. I dropped mine for the ceramic (and Xpel clear bra) on the day of purchase. I have a great vendor here for that stuff, this will be my 3rd vehicle he’s done.

I’ll keep following this thread for the great ideas as well.

I would say “NADA” as in not a damn thing.:rofl::rofl:. You just bought the truck...wait a bit until January or so. Then, let it rip:spending::spending::spending: that way your wife won’t kill you before the holidays. And your children will be able to spend one last Thanksgiving and Christmas with you before the wife kills you:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Replace the ugly shifter handle with the TRD version. Cheap and makes a big difference.
