No, I'm sure with ample planning we can do a run in that direction, maybe some of the BASTRDS are more familiar.

Anyone in the San Diego area up for a meet up? Are there any "cars & Coffee" meets?
I cannot really get away for an overnight/multi-day trip, but if there is a day trip, let me know

I may be out of town on the 17-19th for business start up meeting. ( seamless plug- we've just started a new guided hiking company based out of Colorado! Peaktopeakoutdoors.com !) But November I think we are free and clear. We are also looking to get the toytec boss kit set up by early October.

I hope everything is going well with your situation.
The SD members are awesome and can maybe get something going. Unless you want all of SoCal to show up because we can do that too :D

Chris, I think I can call @sdde4n and @Grendel in here and see what days they're available. That run @nishibot, @sdde4n, and I did a couple weeks ago with @eccracer104 was freeway close, passable in my stock 2WD (when I held my breath and closed my eyes ), and I'd be up to doing it again with you along, if you want a little dirt therapy.

I'd also be good meeting you (and any others) for coffee. Or a meal. In addition to weekends, I can do some days Wed - Fri. Shall we see who chimes in, then pick a meet at a place parking for that many Tundras-?

Hmmn... that second weekend is about Joshua Tree time....

This is the best weekend for me to do a dirt meet-up in September!

I could do coffee or meals on others probably, just not as much unscheduled time on those others.

Uh-oh. Don't tell anyone you know this. Public release is prohibited by our contracts.

I think @Porschetech29 and some buds are talking about this. :notsure:But they may be planning for more experienced drivers with upgraded rigs.

I'm hoping to do an Anza or other semi-local trip between now and then... and might have to admit that I may have to wait for at least new AT tires before I push my faker-4-bi to try all-sand desert-running.

Last time I did Joshua Tree it was very easy going and family friendly. We were focused more on the camping and hiking and less on the offroading. My son loves it there. We camped at Jumbo Rock and he loved climbing the rock formations.
I’m good for Anza or Joshua Tree but still need to talk to the wife about dates.

@Porschetech29 @sdde4n and I we’re discussing this on Saturday. It would be a good over night trip for everyone and @eccracer104 said he knew a spot that can hold a lot of big booty tundras

I'll once again defer to @eccracer104 to make my decisions for me . He's seen how I drive my totally stock with stock tires truck. If a good attitude, Max Trax, and beers for SoCal homies will get us there and back, I'll totally be in for this. :)

    Edit:
Mike: you don't really have to take responsibility for me ;), but I think I recall you did that run and camp spot last year in your 2WD that had a lift, cool tires, and a rear locker option-- and posted a pic of a 4x4 truck that got stuck going too far off into the sand. So... I know it'd be stupid for me not to consider that, at some point, I'll have to bow out, unless/ until I upgrade. So... your opinion is welcome.

The spot I’m thinking about, we got a stock ram 1500 out there, but I didn’t see him drive. There’s only one spot I have any concern for a Tundra but Tacoma’s with trailers made it so I feel like a Tundra can do it.

Before signing up a bunch of people it’d be wise to go with a small group. Too hot out there now anyways.

I know a really fun and long trail we can take that 2wd tacos can do, but I’m still learning 2wd Tundra capabilities. It does have some rocky climbs.
@Sunnier @sdde4n and @nishibot i would call this trail more technical than pine valley.

As long as it’s family-friendly, I can usually justify it (not weekdays, of course).

I can do a day run close to San Diego that weekend, but not camping. @Cfincke you wanna play in the dirt? This'd be a good day for a quick locals get-together. @nishibot, would you want to make the trip down again, and does that weekend work?

... still works best for me in October for camping, but to not miss camping with Mr. & Mrs, @Marty McFly, I could make:
... work if it's not farther out than Anza or Palomar (and save Joshua Tree for November?) We could plan 2 back-to-back months while the weather's great for camping...!

Whatever y'all decide, I'm in for any I can fit on my calendar! :yay:
