My hunt for info on dropping my truck 2'' is unsuccessful so far, please help.

My 08 DC 4WD has a 6" procomp stage 1 lift. I just got some of the RCD setup Bilstein 5100's that would allow me to remove the front spacers. The shock also has a 4" setting that i am interested in using. ( I could pull the add-a-Leaf from the rear to loose 2"?). But am i going to mess up some steering angles in the front if I run my 6" kit at 4"? I see the 4" procomp lift comes with different part # for steering knuckles...

Anybody know if this will work properly?

If I were you I’d just pull the bracket lift off altogether and buy coilovers. You can get 3-3.5 of lift

It will likely not work. Most drop bracket 6” and 4” kits are interchangeable, but the ProComp 6” and 4” are very different. Crossmember is cut on 6”, not the 4”, many different parts.

@tmart - Thats not an option unfortunately. Missing parts and 20" rims steered me away form that a while back. Plus the missing crossmember...

@Vizsla - Ya my crossmember is cut out. But i was not trying to remove it. Can i leave my drop brackets - and set my front shocks at 4" ? and then pull my block or add-a-leaf in the rear?

I’ve installed the 4”, and been hands on a few 6”. What both kits do is lift the truck 4” or 6”, leaving you with close to stock geometry, at either 4” or 6” depending on what kit you have. I do alignments as a hobby, so it would be like doing a 2” drop on a stock truck. Think I could make that work in terms of an acceptable alignment, but everything would be less than ideal, tire clearance, geometry, cv angles, possibly cutting inner tie rods etc.. There are other issues, I just strongly caution against it, just won’t say it absolutely won’t work with some effort.

@Vizsla what your saying makes sense. And was my hesitation. That said, I was able to find this dead end thread about this over at TundraTalk.
    https://www.tundratalk.net/forums/tundra-suspension-talk/547642-lowering-procomp-6-inch-lift.html

I always thought this lift was maybe pushing a few angles further than necessary...in which case i thought- well hell maybe dropping 2 inches isnt going to hurt.
People are running my wheels and tires with the 4" procomp lift so thats not a concern so much. (20" XD Monster w/ 35's)

Im not looking to run any hodge-podge setup. Just trying to find some concrete answers of why it would or would not work. I appreciate your input.

Reach out to ProComp. Maybe @Hattori can offer input?

Yep, you'd need the 4in cross member to make it work. And sometimes Pro Comp lacks individual pieces to "fab" a kit together. And yes the knuckles are diff. Much better off selling everything together and going C/O's and leafs. Then let your tire size get you to 4in total lift
