What are you guys doing to keep your paint maintained and safe from the elements?

My truck is sitting in the AZ sun every day and I'm thinking I need a cover or something to that extent. Thoughts?

Mine's garaged at work 5 days a week, but occasional washing and twice a year sealant does the trick for most colors. White needs to be hit with polish/compound more often. AZ sun is damn intense though... I'd be more worried about the plastic and rubber parts

I've never parked a vehicle I own in a garage or shelter on a regular basis. The garage has always been filled with bikes, mx bikes, and sport bikes. Now it's filled with all of the above plus kids toys.

We have a couple members here with lots of experience with finishing and maintaining paint, maybe they will give some information.
My thought is that if you ever get dirt or grit on the inside of the cover (inevitable, if used when the truck is dirty), it’s gonna scratch the finish every time you put it on. Similar to how a little fine sand or dust in your holster will rub off the blueing.

Look up ceramic or quartz coating. Lots of protective coatings that can be done. I had ceramic done and it's working great so far. Rain beads up nice and runs off instead of pooling, dirt and mud slides off, and even soap doesn't stay on very well when washing. I was told should last 4 years before it will need redone. Been 6 months and I love it so far.
