Changed my serpentine belt and truck squeals sharp and loud until what appears to be the fan clutch kicks in. Watched some videos on line and did the water test and that would stop it. It only does it when the motor is cold, like overnight. Any ideas? Tired of the neighbors looking at me.

How old is it? Could just be worn out.

no not quite sure how to diagnos it. mechanic at garage said that it was the bearing behind the pulley that the fan mounts to. saw on a video on you tube(probably not the best) that if you put a little water on the ribbed part of the belt and the squeal goes away that it is more than likely the tensioner pulley. looking for help and advice. it did not have the problem until i changed belts. also heard that a goodyear gaterback belt might help as it is more flexible to help with pulley misalignment. thanks in advance for your time.

You should ask the mechanic in the Ask a Toyota mechanic thread ;)

A mechanics stethoscope could help localize the sound.
