no but unless they are engineered with groundbreaking innovation and technology they are still an led bulb that will absolutely roast the eyes of anyone driving in your direction. the light reflectors on a 3rd gen tundra aren't designed for them and scatter the light everywhere.

That's right. The bowls aren't made for LEDs. It throws the light pattern all over the place. There is a guy that has tested most of the LEDs out there on tundra talk. None of the patterns looked good.

^^ This. LEDs are bad when used in the stock reflective headlights. I think its actually illegal in some states. If you get LED bulbs you should upgrade to projectors.

those actually looks pretty freakin nice and are considerably cheaper than i would have assumed them to be.
it does make me wonder how much of a difference between a simple projector retrofit and the spyders are they are so reasonably priced?
i'd hate to ditch my platinum lights if the retrofit was doable by a regular dude.

I wondered the same too. It think the main difference is the quality of the projector lenses. Retros have top of the line lenses which give better color and light output. But the Spyders with vleds do look pretty good for the price!

    Koito Bi-LED Retrofit
Just so you'd know, there is a new LED bulb coming out in D2S form made for HID projector base lights. They will be released within two weeks. I have seen the test models and boy are they amazing! Paired with a nice projetor like an RX350 or even Mini D2S will be worth the money. I believe price for the bulbs will be around $150 or so. I will actually be using these in my RX350 once they are release.

I will also be selling my Koito Bi-LED Retrofit lights if your interested in LED headlights. Here are some pictures of the output compared to RX350

So other than not having to wait for warm up and running cooler?, What will the advantage be to having an led in place of the traditional bulb? Disadvantages? Will the led work with the new mini ds2 coming out and have an idea when that will be?

    Sorry for the thread jack.

Most important advantage....longevity! These LED bulbs lifespan is roughly 10,000-20,000 hours. So never ever worrying about replacing a bulb is worth the money on its own.

The new LED bulbs will work with any D2S bulb base projectors.

Lumen ratings are not yet released, though they will be very close to HID. So close you wont even tell the difference unless you have Nightbreakers or something similar.

I was thinking I would use CBI's, but the appeal of led bulbs matching my led fogs is nice.

Yes they will be a perfect match! CBI's are close but no HID bulbs seems to match the look of LED's
