I apologize in advance for the bother folks.....

Looking to purchase this weekend and I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. Originally priced a limited 18 with TRD and limited premium package equipped. At this time, I can only find the Silver with one or the other. This is going to be a family vehicle and will never be modded except the possibility of leveling.

Soooooo, the question is, which one should i get. The TRD package or the Limited Premium package. Again, only going to be highway miles put on it.

    Thanks in advance!

Limited, since it will be a family vehicle in my opinion.

So just to be clear.... Go with the 18 limited with the Limited Prem package instead of the Trd package? Thanks a bunch folks!

Personally, I'd go with the TRD OR Limited for the few extra TRD options and the 18" wheels. The Limited Premium give you a few extras like BSM, front and rear sonar, rear cross traffic safety stuff, JBL and 20" wheels, and a few extras. I drove both and got the TRD OR Limited, so I'm biased. They both have too much chrome for my tastes, but that can be rectified by you and some coin. Either one is awesome, not a bad choice if you had to pick one over the other.

If you think twice about it it's not the correct choice. Stick with whatever your first choice was. Works for me.

I wouldn’t settle on a big purchase. Get everything you want.

If the limited is it, buy that one.

You may find a ride comfort difference between the two. Some seem more sensitive to ride comfort than others, but it won’t cost you a dime to try them both out and see which you like. If it’s a family vehicle, I would think the TRD package isn’t needed. Let us know what you end up with.

Welcome neighbor, just curious what made you pick that dealership? I went there first and they would not negotiate at all! Went to Fred Anderson and they were negotiating the hell out of the price and also threw in a tonneau cover, bed extender, spray in bed liner and tinted the windows. Good luck on your purchase! Can’t wait to see pics!!

Also Fred Anderson offers lifetime oil changes along with lifetime engine and power train warranty.

Limited. No-brainer. The TRD package is just shocks, wheels, and skid plates. The Limited Premium stuff will serve you better day-to-day, and can't be added later as easily.

TRD rear sway bar, console organizer, stubby antenna, LEDs for cabin, cargo, license plate, and reverse lights, power-fold mirrors, Westin nerf bars, full stereo upgrade. Future - color-match grill surround/bulge, mirror caps, handles, plasti-dip badges.

Congrats! I'm looking for exactly the same, family truck as well. My vote was going to be Limited for all the reasons mentioned here. Looks awesome.

Do you still have car seats you're hauling around? That's our situation and we think the back seat will work well. I have the 2001 Tundra now and it's horrible for kids. The 'access cab' sucks big time...

I traded my Tacoma double cab for the Tundra CM for just that reason. I had one child already and a 2nd on the way, no way I was going to fit 2 car seats in there. The CM has TONS of room. You can even climb into the back seat with the car seat in place. No way for the kids to kick the back of the front seat either!

I have two car seats in the back and there's plenty of room.. Both kids can be in and you're still able to get to the middle seat without any trouble. The little ones also won't be able to kick your seats when they're back there.

$899 for the "Hendrick Protection Package"...What a scam.I will NEVER buy from a dealership that uses this kind of tactic.

In a very similar situation, I love the look of the Limited with the TRD Off Road Package, but I really want the blind spot monitoring, rear sonar, etc. My vehicle will definitely be more of a family vehicle since I take the kids to school and pick them up on my way to/from the office. I definitely want to test drive again to see if I can notice a difference in the ride between a Limited and the Limited with TRD Off Road. Are there any other major differences worth considering?

Our original test drive was a 2018 with the TRD package. I noticed the ride was very stiff. To be completely honest, it almost turned me against the Tundra. So glad we went with the non TRD. Don't get me wrong, I see the advantages of that package, it just wasn't the right move for us. Again, I appreciate all of the input from everyone!

p.s. First rock chip with less than 30 miles driven..... typical luck for me!

So if the dealer I go to for a test drive doesn’t have a Limited TRD Off Road does the SR5 TRD have the same ride feel? Just want to test out both before deciding.

Yes, since both are TRD. If you want to see/feel the difference you need to testdrive a TRD and a non TRD.
