I have seen it before. It’s an interesting article because all the trucks featured in it are common everyday models. They are not any type of special limited edition. However, the Tundras featured were the most basic of them all. With just a supercharger or other minor modifications. It says something about the 5.7L V8 engine and overall power train of the Tundra. Not to mention that the Tundra has the longest expected lifespan of all the trucks. No wonder it’s a consumer best buy.

That is true. I got a Gen 3 as a loaner while my cam leak was being repaired, and it seemed doggy compared to my Gen 2.

There is nothing Toyota has done (or not done) with the Tundra that pisses me off more then the fact that they dropped the RCSB option!

Pretty cool article. I’ve always wanted to buy this gen 2 and supercharge it as a toy to play around with!

That's something I've noticed about Toyota's pickups too.

All Toyota did with with S/C Tundra was add the S/C components. Transmission, axles, transfer case were already overbuilt and needed nothing to handle that additional torque.

Go watch Toyota race its Tacoma and Tundra in the stock class of the Baja races. Toyota doesn't change the mechanical underpinnings to make them race-worthy. Ford relies on a highly-modified F-150 (albeit a very capable vehicle) to serve as the desert racer.

True. That’s why it’s always so important that people compare apples to apples, and oranges to oranges. Too often they look at a Tundra (5.7 CM), and try to compare it with a Raptor. That’s an unfair comparison because the Raptor is a highly specialized truck that’s at the he top tier of Ford’s pickup trucks. They throw everything, plus the kitchen sink in the Raptor. Those two trucks were not created equal.
