I've been on the forum for a while now looking around and asking questions. I've already read over the "New to the Forum" thread about buying a Tundra and how to get a good deal, but since it's weird timing with the 2019s starting to show up at dealerships.

    1. I know there is no difference in the 18 compared to the 19 and I definitely would prefer the 18 since I believe I could get a better deal. Is it too late in the year now to be specific in asking the dealer to locate the exact model/color that I want in a 2018?

    2. I really love the look of the Limited with the TRD Off Road Package (this whole time I've been set on 2018 TRD Off Road Limited MGM CM), but the truck will mostly be driven to and from work and taking the kids to/from school. Should I just go with the Limited Premium so that I have blind spot, rear sonar, etc? I guess it would be cheaper down the road to ditch the Limited wheels for the Off Road wheels (the bigger factor in why I like the Off Road look better). Is there really a notable difference in the ride between Limited with TRD vs Limited Premium?

    3. Are there any models of the TRD Off Road that also offer the blind spot and rear sonar? I figure this is unlikely but I feel like I have seen it before.

    4. Are any of the extended warranties worth purchasing? I know I've seen some posts about issues with the TSS sensors so wondering if I should at least get the electronics covered.

Thanks in advance. Any other info/advice/suggestions is greatly appreciated.

    Blake,
I believe that you can go online and build your Tundra they way you want then click on find my vehicle. This will show you where it is located, I would call or visit that dealer because you would get a better deal directly then having your local dealer find it and get it for you.
I have the '18 TRD Sport, I have those options I just don't have leather/heated seats or a sunroof like a Limited.
I got the warranty just because of all the electrical components.
    Good luck with your search.

Thanks, I looked at the build and price on Toyota and I found that on the 2019 there is a package that has Limited Premium, moonroof, and TRD Off Road package, so that is definitely what I'm looking for. I hate that most of the dealer sites don't list which packages are installed. So I may end up needing to go with a 2019 since I'm not seeing that option on the 2018 build and price page, probably because they've sold all of those I'm assuming.

There are a lot of '18's sitting on the lots. Take a drive on a nice day. Where are you located?

There's gotta be several dealerships down there that have what you're looking for. Just take your time. Good luck.

I just purchased a '18 CM Limited with the TRD Off Road package. Basically, it was only a $70 price difference. They ditch the 20"s for 18"s and that apparently pays for the suspension changes. The dealer had 3 of them in stock, so at least in San Diego that seems to be a popular package. It's a bit of a drive from Greenville though.

So you also have the Premium options with blind spot monitoring and rear sonar?

Not sure with the 2018 models but 2016 and 17 you could get the TRD off road package with up grade that comes with the blind spot and rear sonar. This package also came with the 38 gallon fuel tank

Yes, and the moon roof, dual zone climate, and the little chrome "Limited" badges (although those "fell off" the first day...) and it does have the 38 gal tank.

Yes a Limited can be found with a TRD offroad option but why go down wheel sizes ?
I prefer the 20" wheels and stock soft shocks.

I don't like the feel of very road imperfection on the 18" TRD O/R truck - but that's me driving on imperfect streets....

So to even make the truck softer, I prefer the 2WD as opposed to 4WD....

It has to be 4WD, but I just like the look of the TRD wheels more than the 20'' Limited wheels. Guess I can always get black wheels later down the road.

You should definitely test drive a 4WD Limited and 4WD Limited w/ TRD Off Road to compare - big difference in ride quality.

I remember when I was young, my first Toyota 4x4 truck has the super stiff Rancho 9000 shocks and extra leaf springs - rode like a chattery box truck - but then my kidneys aren't as sensitive that they were before...
