Plus when I bought my 2018 they were pushing me to buy a 3/1 level from them. They wanted a ridiculous amount using spacers in the front.

 

I should of added a few words. Perfected as can be with what our trucks use. There is better technology for this, in use currently. Not sure why we get what we get. Toyota pretty much says anything can mess it up in the manual, hot, cold, condensation, bugs, ufos, etc.

If you lift, it will be off. How far? You could guess, but what good would it do. Switch to Pro grill, should be recalibrated. Will it work without?, maybe but it will be off.

They may be recalibrating the system. Mine sells ones with bracket lifts, but do the calibration. I’m not sure a dealer will do this if we change things, but they definitely have the incentive on a new one.

 

Are you talking about the window that says "Radar Cruise Control Unavailable: Clean Sensor"? It sounds like you are. That window can go away by hitting the arrow button on your steering wheel.

That’s the one, and yes, it will go away...and then it will come back about five seconds later. I’m going to go out on a limb and call that “not awesome”...= )

Eyes, hands, gauges and life was easier, hi tech is making the world brain dead!

 

I have had the "Radar Cruise Control Unavailable: Clean Sensor" warning a few times. Always when driving in the rain. I just assume that it is because of either dirt or water drops on the sensor causing a false reading and throwing the error code.
I have also had the big red "brake!" warning when there is nothing to brake for.

You know what I do about it? nothing. It's not worth getting upset about. It's going to happen with so many variables that can trigger it. 99% of the time it works fine, and then I enjoy having the adaptive cruise control, and a few times the "brake!" warning has worked as designed, and might have even saved my ass.

So, long story short... relax, enjoy life, and take the good with the bad. Some things are not worth getting upset about.

 

Me, and the other 220 million plus drivers on the road didn’t sign a liability waiver. It would be useless...

 

It was just a thought but thank you for sharing. He’s not making them anymore so I guess it doesn’t really matter.

Yep that was us! Sorry you are having those issues! I was debating whether or not to go over and chat, but sometimes it's just weird. "Hey I see you have a Tundra, oh I have one too, blah blah blah." Lol. I told my wife you were probably on here judging by the grille swap, and the wheels alone lol.

Just a thought...

With a 3/1 level, you're raising the front of the truck, which skews the angle of the sensor a bit. Most trucks seem to tolerate that.

However, I wonder if you got some sag in the rear when you hitched the trailer on, which exacerbated the condition and made the front angle be off even worse...and if that was enough to make the sensor see sky instead of road at times, throwing the error code.

 

Wait. I'm so confused. Now I am rethinking everything. So, if I want the greatest distance between me and the vehicles in front of me, do I use the maximum bars (3 green bars) or the minimum bars (1 green bar)?

 

Idk anything about this anymore; i got tired of f-ing with it and gave up. I just shut the PCS off before every trip, because I am too old for this shit.

 

Max distance between you and the car in front of you is the three bars. Put it at one bar and it won't intervene until you get closer. Personally I put it on good ol fashioned cruise control. It's annoying feeling the truck slow and speed up when cars get too close.
