    I just bought my 2003 tundra V8 with 44k original miles...my question is, should I change the timing belt with such few miles because it is 15 years old, or leave it!?

    Yep change it. If it goes out it will cost a whole lot more.

    Wow. Another low mileage 2003. Amazing. Not sure how much money you want to fork out after spending a premium on the rare low miler species. Timing belt and water pump combo (recommended) might be around $1100? Parts and labor at a shop.

    Yep $1k at local Toyota dealer...I’ll spend $400 on parts and coolant and do it my damn self! Haha

    It is in impeccable condition...only a couple of scratches that I couldn’t buff out...I’m very pleased; most likely keep the truck forever

    That California weather is easy on things from what I hear. My 02’ is at 158k miles. Hearing they’ll go to 400k from some guys around here. For me thats another 18 years of driving.

    The guy I bought it from kept it in the garage all the time, only going on trips here and there...until he bought a new Tesla which was why he sold it

    There another guy here who scored a 2003? With something like 17k miles from California. Garage kept like yours. Amazing. Guy must be banking to afford a Tesla.

    So, do any of ya have a recommendation on a complete oem timing belt kit to buy...I’ve seen one or two on eBay for around $300

    Aisin makes all the 1st gen transmissions, gear boxes, engines, etc. A Japanese company. They shipped the parts to Canada and thats where they were assembled, then shipped to USA.

    The Tesla isn't a big deal, anybody can buy one of those. The hyperbolic chamber he parked that Tundra in cost quite a bit though.

    Even has the color matched trim, such a nice find.
