Hello I am new to the tundra community and am having issues with the nuts backing off both my passenger and driver side control arm pin. I recently bought truck and I think it has a 3 and 1/2 “ lift and I’m assuming the guys that had put lift on didn’t torque the nuts and now there falling off and giving me major problems. Doesn’t anyone know what the torque setting is and what could be causing these to back off? Haven’t had any problems for a month and in the last two days I have had both sides come off and leave me stranded. Any help? Thanks a lot

Here are pics of what I’m talking about. I’m not happy with dealer that sold truck at moment!

Those things get torqued down TIGHT! I forget what it is 150-180? @Vizsla knows. Have you tried a Nylock nut?

I actually went to fastenal today to buy that exact thing and I got them started but they didn’t have 12m the size I think it is but they had fine thread and standard 5/8” size which I bought and cranked on enough to get me home safe but wanted to make sure right size before I completely strip out the threaded pin and tighten them down

Thanks for the torque spec. I’m pretty sure those were never tightened all the way bc after my driver side nut fell off I checked the passenger and there was a little bit of space and I just didn’t know it wasn’t supposed to be like that. I actually have a pic of the passenger nut before it fell off. Does this look right?

I’m sure you know, the washer is missing in your first pics(I have some if you need). The bolt kits are readily available, I would replace them, or make the dealer do it. Good chance the bolt could be bent damaged etc.. Definitely do not use just any nut, not sure of the factory grade, but due to the torque required, it will be a higher grade. I’ve broken a few extensions torquing them.
