I have been experiencing a vibration when I initially begin to accelerate from a stop that goes away but then returns around 50 mph up to 80mph. It also vibrate during deceleration at those same speeds. Is this bad U joints? Need help diagnosing if anyone else has had this problem.

Could be a worn out carrier bearing.

Yeah buddy. Do a youtube search on 2000-2006 Tundras Carrier bearings. It looks easy. I may do mine soon to get ahead of the problem. My mechanic said for me to take it off and just bring it up to the local heavy rig truck shop and let them press the u-joints. Toyota stealerships sell the Carrier bearing. Use the OEM Toy bearing as the cheap ones wearout from the reviews I’ve read.

Overall, its an easy DIY job.

I have the same issues after change differential fluid with Loyal purple and went back to OEM diff fluids back to normal but maybe carried bearings or U joint too. But my 2005 Sequoia not Tundra I think they are same

Sounds like your transmission to me. However, it could also be a bad engine mount. It’s hard to say without seeing the vehicle and testing it myself. Take it to the dealership for a cheap oil change. They will perform their free multi-point inspection in an effort to make some money off you. At that time, they should let you know all that they have found out to be wrong with your vehicle. Then, depending on what it is and the cost, you can take it from there. Good luck.

i did get it figured out it was the drive shaft. as well as the seal where it connects to the trans. was worn out and leaking. But my dealership replaced the entire drive shaft instead of replacing the carrier bearing and U joints.
