Hi guys just a quick question I was looking at lifts for the 2018 and I know there is some issues with the TSS system but I still entertaining the thought of lifting it not much looking at the following lift kit's keep in mind I don't any major wheeling:)

    1. Blisteins 6112 up front with 5160 in the rear will I still need to add a block .

    2. Fox 2.0 front and back with a 1 inch block looking for 2.5 in the front levling out . as i don't want to change my K02 which are 285 65 18 i am okay with the size .

Or do save the money and install the

Readylift 3 and 1 spacer kit which is a lot less money then both other kits.

Thanks for the help and insight guys . :)

Welcome from Obx @rescobar46. You can't go wrong with the 6112's or Fox's. I have the 6112's up front @ max setting and 5100's in rear with 1" tapered block. If your not off-roading much, 5160's maybe a little overkill. I would definitely go with your first 2 picks vs the 3/1 spacer kit. Let's see that Tundra:thumbsup:

Either one of the replacement coilovers and shock kits would be a better choice than a spacer/block kit with stock suspension like ReadyLift. Not to say that blocks are a terrible choice, but the others will generally yield a better ride. I’d go with the 6112/5160 combo out of those choices if it were me. I’m sure you’ll get owners of all three chiming in here.

Don’t do the spacer lift, unless you like doing things twice. Ask my front driver side shock that is dripping tears of shock oil.
Buy once, cry once - I’m a firm believer.
(I bought my truck with spacer lift installed, that was not my doing; for the record).

How did the lift make your shock leak? I have been looking and watching and the spacer kit doesn't change the length of the shock. Everyone wants people to do coils, but the coilovers are so much more expensive, especially for mall crawlers.

The spacer lift is equivalent to taking 50 lbs of shit and cramming it into a 10# bag - almost literally. There are many threads on it. They stress the shock more than it was designed for. I guess you could install limiting straps and extended bump stops to limit travel - still not a good idea and more work/money.
    Buy once, cry once.

Edited to add - I’ve put probably close to 400,000 miles on lifted Toyota’s on real coilovers and only once had to rebuild an Icon coilover because it had 80K miles on it.
My spacer setup - blew a shock within 30K mile of installation because previous owner went cheap.
I have Kings in the mail headed my way.

I am in the same boat as the OP.

    2018 platinum 4x4.

The 6112 front and the 5160s in the rear was what i decided on.. but I want to keep the tss 20" rims which have a +50 offset. The goal was to level it and allow for a 35" tire in the future on the same rims, but after some research here in the forums it seems i will have to go higher and/or add spacers. So back to the drawing board.

Id say get the lift you want, don't settle. Otherwise you'll be asking yourself, what if this or that. Do some research, figure out what you really want to achieve/get out of it and then pull the trigger.

If you plan to explore, dont get a spacer lift. Too many collapsed shocks because of the poor setup/geometry.

This times 10, do not buy a spacer kit, lift it properly or just put the best stock height shocks, it will help improve ride quality.

I don’t recall my offset (18” method mesh) but my 35x12.50x18 Trail Grapplers (run large) tires are out of the wells a 1/2”+ and I’m on a 2” spacer level in front - and that’s it. I’d say it’s doable, just bust out the angle grinder for trimming the front bumper.

Depends on what you do with your truck. Obviously everyone is going say to get coilovers and uca's and what not...but..i have run both setups on numerous vehicles in my life. My old Tacoma had Fox coilovers, TC uca's, leaf packs and so on; honestly it was overkill. My only offroading is beach driving. I have the LRO 3/1 kit now on my current Tundra and am completely happy with it and have no problems. Many many people run the same lift. As for Ready Lift, i cant comment b/c i've never used that brand. If you offroad alot, i would suggest a coilover of some sort or 6112 setup, if u dont offroad much, spacers are fine and arent gonna make the world come to an end. Make sure you get your alignment right tho.20180827_174108.jpg
