Well, in light of Tropical Storm Gordon bearing down on us in Louisiana and Mississippi, here’s a nice reminder of the broad policies that we have to deal with working on/near the coast!

    C5B5D76F-056D-47DD-A511-E4352540751F.jpg

Can’t believe they forgot flat bottom boats and piroques as transportation!

Not to mention, no beer with the chocolate cake??? Wtf?

Back in the 80's when I worked in the food industry along the Gulf, we were expected to somehow come into work by any means possible. Electricity would be out, but they'd run the generators and cook and serve whatever we could unless the water was also out.

Yep, a good bit of my buddies that work out at plants are required to go in a day or two before the hurricane and stay there until it passes, day/week off or not.

No worries, MAYBE a few downed limbs and some heavy rain/minor flooding but that’s probably the extent of it. This is what we call a drizzle down here! LOL

Not to say Murphy’s Law can’t or won’t happen, that’s why I have plenty of food and beer LOL

We were preppers before prepping was a thing. Water, non-perishable food and other essentials are standards during hurricane season.

Yep. Been through 5 of them in my lifetime. Main things were water and gas. Filled up every tub and container in the house with water and scrounge and buy whatever bottled water was left on the shelves. Also used to have a spare 10 gallon steel tank and several 5-gallon containers for gas after filling up our vehicles. Can’t drive to Waffle House, McDonald’s or Lowe’s if gas stations don’t reopen after a few weeks.

bubba casual, no more than coonass formal (camo button up optional)

You think shrimp boots is teeing the line? Cant decide if those are considered formal or dressy casual down here. You know those things are like opinions and assholes down here. Everyone’s got one and they all stink!

Down here, all you gotta do to get elected is be as corrupt as possible, start racketeering money and open a casino.

I mean look at Edwin Edwards! He was named Louisiana’s best governor! LOL

Yep, we would start loading up gas and hittin grocery stores a week before. Whatever we didn’t use, it was perfect for filling up our ATV’s and boats and having plenty of snacks/water when we’d be out there hunting/fishing. Win win!

Waffle House is the absolute best place to go after two things. A raging party, and a hurricane. (Sometimes those two do cross paths.....)

Stink? That would depend on how used they are and what they were used for? I have a friend that wears a pair for mucking out a horse stall , now those are pretty ripe.

Are Monster Energy stickers on my truck required by law, or is it optional? And what should my Calvin sticker be pissing on? Not sure of etiquette. It’s been a couple of years since I visited. That tiger still at the gas station on I-10? He didn’t look too healthy last time.

Now this is true. Give the people money, they’ll stick with you. At least until the money runs out LOL

And how long you’ve had them, don’t forget. After a while, wearing things with no socks will start to attract flies.

All right, new to slightly used shrimp boots, no work shrimp boots. Fair?

3” lift, black step bars, aftermarket wheels, LT305/55R20 was this way when I brought it.
Me and the wife drove the tundra to Pensacola about a month ago, great trip. But never seen so many Waffle Houses in my life. They are on every other corner and on the highway every other exit. If you can’t find a Waffle House something is wrong.
