Don’t laugh - but what lift do I have? LOL

Okay, you can laugh - it’s fine.
History - purchased truck used a little while back and was told it had 3” lift via spacers in front and a 1” block in rear. I could obviously see the front spacer, and just now I’m figuring out I don’t have a block in the rear.

I have Resi Kings set at 3” coming soon for the front, and I’m trying to figure out what to do in the rear. Coachbuilder +2” I would guess - and I planned on removing rear block. Come to find out, I don’t have one? Im a little stumped LMAO.

Was my main leaf replaced, or do I have zero rear lift? Shackles look stock to me. I’ve attached a bunch of pics so hopefully that helps.

I put the 35” Trail Grapplers and 18” methods on. Had to do a lot of trimming of Tupperware in the front.

 

Looks to me like you have NO lift in the rear. Shocks appear stock 4600, springs look stock and I see no block.

So does the front spacers look like they provide 2” or 3”?
Wouldn’t I have a reverse rake if my front was 3” and I had zero rear lift?

 

At 3” you would have a rake. Especially since you have some weight on the rear.
I could be wrong on the springs but I believe they are stock and you were told you had a 1” block in the rear and there is no block in those pics. I would measure mine for you but I have 275/70 tires so it probably won’t be the same.
As for the spacer, it looks like 3 to me but you could try to measure and confirm.

 

I just measured from ground to fender, and both front and rear are both 40.5” dead nuts even front and rear (same measurement).

 

I’m really hoping that it wasn’t a 3” front, and now the Kings will put me even higher than what I am now!

 

I’m not sure where your getting the lift from? Shackles not stock?? There is no blocks that I can see.

 

The only thing I can think of was the preload leaf was replaced? I don’t know - it does all look stock to me, but I don’t have a stock Tundra to compare it to.

No problem! The spacer itself isnt 3 inches but provides 3 inches of lift. So based off your pic i would say yours is a 2 inch.

 

Yea - that’s what I was thinking. So 2” in front, and zero in rear.

Is it normal to clear 35’s with this setup? I thought you had to be Min 3” front 1” rear. I didn’t have any rubbing with the 35” Toyo AT’s that came with the truck. When I replaced them with the 35” Trail Grapplers - they were bigger, and I had to bust out the angle grinder for the front bumper.

My stock 2015 measures 3.25 inches higher in the rear. This is making me wonder why so many of the level kits lift the rear at all......if I install a 3/1 level kit, I will still have a rake and not be level.

 

LOL! He works for the school district on the busses - he can do a lot more but chooses not to (house paid off on some acreage out there). His wife drives a blue FJ (newer not older). He also has a mid 80’s Yota solid axle built, very low height for the 36’s it sits on - tunneled the trans into the cab, and it’s not beat - it’s beautiful (OD green).

You are suppsed to measure from center of the wheel to the top of the fender well, not from the ground. Also needs to be on a flat surface. For a reference refer to this thread.

On my stocker: LF 22", RF 21.5", LR 23.75" and RR 24.5". these are from the center of the wheels measurements!

 

@Boosted4runner great post! I've learned a lot from this and have went out and measured. I have the exact same set up as you on my spacer lift except that my spacer measures 2.5". I don't have any blocks in the back from what I'm reading and seeing in your pics that you have shared. Any reason why you're shifting to a 3/1 from your current set up? And why are you going Resi Kings vs Toytec or Bilstein per say? The thing is I'm really leaning towards moving away from spacer lifts. I believe my truck can sit a whole lot better with a 3rd party suspension and look more aggressive overall. I feel like my current set up is also putting pressure on my stock control arms and aftermarket tire tread. My measurements from the center of the wheel are 25 inch front and rear.

 

Spacer lifts are bad. As long as I can remember they’ve always been frowned upon. The type I’m running is even worse than the Cornfed spacers that go inbetween the strut and top plate from years back. When I lifted my first Tacoma in 2001 I went OME coils to lift vs spacers. I always did it right, but affordable.
Kings are pretty much the Cats Meow in the off-road industry. They’re expensive, and I’ve heard they’re worth the coin - and I’m finally going to find out. I’ve ran all sorts of different setups over the years and I know, especially in this industry - you get what you pay for.
I found some Icon Delta Joint upper control arms locally for $600 I’m picking up as well.

Your rig looks good! I’d say save up for some good coil overs!

 

Would resi kings 3/1 improve the stance of your truck vs what you have now? I am liking the current stance on your truck but if it can be better with this enhancement then heck yes, I would do it too.

Thanks bud! Always looking for ways to make it look better. I'm hoping with a 3/1 lift vs my 2.5 lift, I can fit in some 20x12 wheels. I will definitely try, if not 20x10s are ok too. Maybe I'll be able to put in 35s vs the 33s. I'm currently looking at ToyTec Boss 3/1 but there are some reviews that guys have noticed leaks in the struts within a year. I may go ToyTec with Bilsteins but still doing all the research I can. Don't want to go a 4inch fabtech or anything, I still want to be able to fit my truck in parking garages etc. lol. 3" should be just fine.

My is 26” in the rear and 24” in the front and stock tires P275/65R20
Not sure if that is stock or not
Also have fender flares, and I measured from center of wheel to fender.

 

Come to find out I didn’t have a 1” rear block and my front is 2” vs 3”, I’m 1” shorter than I thought I was (that’s what she said). ;-)
The Kings will put me around that 3” increased height, but I’m mainly slapping them on for increased performance/ride.
I’m okay with my current height as well, but one of my factory Bills is leaking (blown) due to the shitty spacer lift.
I had originally planned to do bumpers, but those just lost their spot on my mod list because of the blown front stock shock.
