Also you know how much easier my life would be if I could pick up a tundra geared off the lot for larger tires and with factory lockers?

THIS. This is very true. When ANYONE wants an offroad vehicle, modding is always thrown in, no matter how small the mod is. I personally enjoy building instead of buying too. Base model with custom upgrades is better than paying thousands more for a longer name and parts youre gonna mod anyways

my wallet and time disagree with you on that one. Plenty of trucks come with factory lockers. Just one less thing to worry about when building it for off-road. A rear locker should be standard on a 4x4 tundra much less a “pro” or trd package.

Please, arb’s and gears are cheaper aftermarket than through a factory option.
I have more faith in arb’s than a factory locker.

So do I. But I’d also feel better driving the piss out of factory lockers and gears with an extended powertrain warranty covered by Toyota.

Not sure how a point that other companies are innovative with full size trucks leads me to getting a little tacoma but ok

Again, still don’t see where I brought up a Tacoma when talking about what I’d like to see for tundras big guy. Do I have to put the full size trucks in bold for you? Go to bed

Looks cool, but I don't really have a need for speed so I'm not interested.

Nice....I have seen a few Raptors on rollbacks. A couple friends have had electronic issues requiring a tow. One bent his like a banana trying to jump it 3ft high because he saw it in the commercial.

This. I remember a bumper sticker I saw once on a heavily modified Jeep that said "Built, not Bought". I gained an appreciation for that when I built up my own trail rig. I also learned that you can spend a lot more than you think on a trail rig, or "go-fast" rig like the Craptor. But, that said, generally it will still most likely be less, and in some cases "better" than any factory-equipped alternative. Then you get monkeys that always chime in with crap like "that's just because you can't afford one". I used to sort of take offense to that, and it made me take even more pride in the whole "built not bought" idea. Now that I am older and in a different financial spot, I can afford stuff like that.

But I still wouldn't buy anything like it. It doesn't seem "worth it" to me. I really like Dodge Challengers. But would I pay the big money to go get a Demon? Hell no. Deep down, I know that if it was something that I wanted, I could buy a used, lower model and build it for less. Same thing with trucks. Some say that it is worth it because their time is precious to them and that is why they don't "build their own". Fair enough, but I actually enjoy working on vehicles, so I don't consider the time to build a negative.

Carry on with the Ford roasting. :bananadead:

Don’t worry @Spolar, I agree with you, it sounds like some, not all Toyota or tundra owners are starting to sound like jeepers who think they’re better than everyone. I love Toyota’s reliability but they’re not problem free, let’s be real, with how long the pro tundras been around they still haven’t added a locker. Tacoma is great but is so weak for me, it needs a V8. What I like about the other 3 is they try new things, the new thing for the 2019 tundra is the pyramid on the hood, Fox shocks, wheels and new safety systems.....yawn. I wanna see something drastically different for the tundra not just cosmetics.

Why does everyone want a locker? With the exception of the ARB type, they are prone to breaking around here.
The problem with the ARB is not having both wheels pull under load for everyday street driving.
I would rather have a limited slip combined with Toyota's Auto LSD to stop wheel spin. Nothing like getting wheel spin and hearing..chunk....ping.....clunk..clunk...shit!

Saw a ranger yesterday, wasn't a raptor but a 4x4. Looked a bit like a Toyota Hilux but cheaper. Didn't get to check it out much. I'm in Peru, they must have got them first here.

They still sell Rangers but just not in the U.S. I'm not sure why, I think they would do good here.

This Ranger Raptor will not be sold in the states. Europe, Australia and maybe Mexico. But the OG Ranger and Raptor are already sold in Mexico so it's not likely. This is mainly meant for Europe because of the size of it. The Hilux is kicking ass all over the world and Ford needs a contender. This is it.

And since Ford is probably still struggling to get a company to build the dashboards for their F-150s, Ford wont be adding another truck to their lineup in the states.
