In April I traded my beautiful 2016 Tundra Platinum for a 2018 Raptor.

I think I'm going to trade the Raptor tomorrow for a 2019 Pro.

I miss the Tundra, the Raptor is nice and has all kinds of technology, looks bad ass and turns heads.

The Tundra has a much nicer fit and finish, rides nicer and I aslo believe over time it will prove to be much more reliable. The fact is I'm not going to take my $70,000 truck bajaing any time soon.
    recent pics 018.jpg
I use my truck to pull my boat haul my motorcycle and whatever else I see fit. The Raptor does none of that well.

The Raptor is awesome the TRD is pretty damn nice too.

Im not gonna lie the Raptors are sweet! The new ones sound like shit though. I see them as a status symbol. Most of the people I see driving them don't look like they would ever use it to its potential. But we all know how much they cost so its like rolling around in a Tesla or Cayman, but more practical

The raptor is bad ass. The sound is something you would get over quick. People gotta stop making that argument. It’s a truck, not a sports car. I do agree a V8 would make it all that much more awesome, but it is what it is

Thanks for this post! As someone between a raptor and a Pro this really helps. I think if I bought a raptor I’d be regretful as quick as you are. Something about these Toyota’s man.

That's like seeing a hot chick at the bar and then when she passes by she smells like BO. Total boner kill (or @WAISTBAND ).

A truck shouldn't sound like a rice burner. That would be the first thing I replace, coming from running LTs and exhaust. But for that $$ I would expect more. Then again it is Ford...

Do you daily drive the Raptor?

Either way you have a sweet truck, but for me, it would be the Pro if I had to choose.

I have a dedicated off-road vehicle and now another dirtbike to satisfy my need for air and speed.

You and I both know you can’t fix the sound of the raptor. Many have tried, many have failed. It just gets louder.

And side note. I wouldn’t let a little BO get in the way of a good time

Aren’t u gonna take a hit on Raptor if you purchased it recently and then pay premium for 19 PRO.

I heard Raptor hold its value not sure if the resell is as good as a Pro

If you want to tow, you may want to steer clear of the Pro...guys bitch about how the Pro's sag when towing...it makes sense...you can't have both...get another Platinum.

Ok so, I’m taking a small hit but compared to a regular trade it’s not bad. I paid 72k I’m getting 68k do not terrible.

I pulled up in the Raptor to look at the Pro on the way home. No real comparison here. Two completely different trucks in my opinion. The Tires on the PRO would have to go immediately.

The PRO has FOX shocks but they don’t even compare to the Raptor. The longer travel and beefed up suspension of the Raptor make it a true off raid machine.
That being said in 8000 miles mine hasn’t seen a gravel road much less a chance to Baja.

I don’t mind the sound of the Raptor. It’s more using it as an everyday truck commuting 50 miles a day and hauling and towing just don’t seem to be what it’s made for.

For a $20,000 difference I think I can live with the pro, I do like my cooled seats though.

As another poster mentioned when the weathers right the eco-boost is a beast, but at times it’s quirky as hell.

I’m not sure how this will go, but thanks for the input.

This is not a big hit. Raptor has long travel but the handling is pretty good on the street & highway driving as well. I was thinking of long travel for my truck but it will only help w off-roading which I don't do. What i would like is tight steering and nice handling at high speeds. Thats where Raptor is better than Pro.

That sounds about right. Doesn’t sound like you will be missing much then. Enjoy the pro! Bye bye raptor. It’s bad ass, but honestly I can’t see that truck lasting very long at all

As a previous ecoboost owner (2013 model with only 75k miles), I have little to no faith in the longevity of those engines. Sweet Raptor though, I really dig it. I did like my Ford a bunch but I felt it wasn't going to be the truck that lasted me a long time. I needed a new timing chain, turbo, and intercooler among other things and my second front window regulator broke about 200 miles from home in the middle of the summer. I sweat my ass off the entire trip back just as pissed off as I could be. I ordered and swapped out the window regulator and couldn't get rid of that thing fast enough.

I miss a few things about it. Keypad on the drivers door is probably the biggest. When I bought it I thought i'd never use the keypad but it was super convenient. I don't miss the rear backup sensor when I'm towing but I do miss it in parking lots for vehicles that sneak up on you. Oh, and the power mirrors. I'm sure the Tundra you're looking at has those features though. Good luck either way, both are really nice rides.

I have the back up sensor on my Limited. It’s come in handy a few times.
