2019 TRD Pro 2.5" Fox Internal Bypass Shocks....question....

any idea how good/bad these shocks will ride on the highway/around town when NOT off roading?

I really LIKE the 2019 Tundra TRD Pros but not sure about how these shocks will ride in normal day to day driving....appreciate your comments & expertise!

Not specific to your exact question, but any off-road suspension is going to degrade on road ride. I’ve had Icon and fox on tundras and Tacoma’s. That being said these are both excellent companies and my fox suspensions had the best on road performance. Icon best off-road. Fox is a bit softer icon is a bit stiffer.

You can’t add a suspension like this and expect it to improve on road. I have never been unsatisfied with how they were on the road though

 

If you keep your front sway bar on you will most likely be fine. If you add the rear sway bar it will be even better. This does take away some of the benefits for off-roading, but then again I still have my front and rear sway bars on my mid travel setup.

Respectfully disagree. My onroad manners have changed very nicely with with ADS shocks on my truck. If your aftermarket did not, maybe you need to look into changing up the valving.

 

If they ride anything like the previous Bilstein setup on the outgoing Pro's they are going to ride awesome. I have had this setup on my truck for almost 2 years and it's smooth and extremely compliant on the road. Actually way better than the standard TRD off road Bilstein's I took off. I wouldn't worry about on road manners at all IMO.

 

I think most would agree that any of the other trim levels are going to feel better on the road than the TRD PRO. Of course YMMV. And if the pro does in fact ride better on road than that’s AMAZING.

I’ve never had an experience where aftermarket suspension felt better on road. But I don’t put one on for that, I’m tough on my trucks.

 

Are the new Fox's rebuildable? I believe the Bilsteins were not correct?

 

I had a 1794 before I traded it in for my 2017 Pro and I truly believe the Pro feels better on the road.

 

Yup! I love my pro suspension. It rides so much nicer than my stock TRD suspension. It’s stiff where it needs to be and plush on the big stuff. I’d say the only time it’s a little more slightly harsh is at very slow speed over rough bumps.

 

I have heard they will be. When my pro suspension wears out I will keep an eye out for the fox set up, used take off.

 

That's why I gun it when I see a speed bump...

 

The Bilstein "Pro" shocks are rebuildable but have to be sent back to Bilstein.
For the record: My off road setup rides better on road than the TRD 4600 shocks, especially the rear with a progressive leaf pack and bypass shocks. The difference and plushness in the rear was amazing.

 

My suggestion would be to sell them and purchase something that you like better. I may know someone that will take them off of your hands!!

 

I do not have them...yet...but am looking HARD at the '19 TRD Pro. LOL!!!!
