Hey all, I finally bought my first Toyota. It's a 2010 Tundra SR5 DC 5.7l. I traded my '99 Powerstroke in on it and so far I am very pleased with the swap. I wanted more of a daily driver. Prior to buying I test drove a newer Ram Hemi and and F150 ecoboost. I was going to go with the ecoboost until a friend convinced me to drive a Tundra...so I did and loved it. The 5.7 is awesome for towing as well. I don't tow all the time but when I do I don't like to slow down traffic. So far it's pretty much bone stock. Anyways, I look forward to participating in this group.

Thanks. I have a 24' Jayco travel trailer and I seem to be the family "tow truck" when everyone's cars break down. So far I have trailered 2 cars and was very surprised on how well it pulled the hills!

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah I did but I was a Ford guy coming into it so I tried to stay loyal. The Tundra just seemed to be a better truck and the engine response is incredible. The new trucks equipped with "drive by wire" seem to lack the punch on take off but the Tundra just wants to launch.

if it makes you feel better I believe your Tundra is more American than the Ford truck line...

I believe that! But it was more of the fact that I've owned so many Fords that for I while I felt like I was cheating. That went away pretty quick though.

Well...I typed a question on the picture above but apparently it's not there now. Anyone else's truck come with a step like this underneath the rear bumper? It folds out/down.

I hear they put those on whenever an old looking guy buys one.... haha just kidding..

That's an aftermarket step.. how do you like it?

I hope your Tundra treats you well and maybe you will be a Toyota guy from now on!

No kidding on the old folks comment! lol I don't have a use for the step really. I assume it would be nice for someone with either a lifted truck or without a canopy. It is pretty sturdy though, I weigh in close to 300 and it holds me just fine but I plan on taking it off this weekend.

I'm just messing around, yesterday I was in and out of the bed a lot and I was thinking how much easier it would be with that step.
