The problem is that it isn't priced accordingly. Other trucks that do have all the bells and whistles (and get better MPG) can be bought cheaper than the Tundra.

You didn't read my post did you? What tech are you talking about? Please elaborate.

So there were a few softball trucks out there in the GMC department. You know, there is only one available....and it just sold...but we have this one over here.........

Things must have changed in the last 5 years then. When I bought my pretty much no bells '13, the Tundra was the cheapest 1/2 ton you could find. By a lot. I wasn't really focused on the upper trim levels, but a similarly equipped 1/2 ton to what I got would have been $5-10K more with the big 3.

He purchased a Tundra. Automatic winner.

Even my wife hates that commercial. Every time it comes on she says "all he did was back straight up, that's the easy part".

I bought a truck because I wanted something good to tow with and go offroad to show the kids you don't need a screen to have fun. I don't need the tech and that's why I didn't buy a dinosaur...

Dealers in my area were advertising loaded Silverado LTZs with the 6.2 for $38k a few months ago, and that's before negotiations. Loaded Sierra SLTs were being advertised for $40k. Heated/cooled seats, Bose sound system, Android Auto/Car Play, & remote start. That's a lot more than you get in a Tundra for $38k. I'm not saying you get a million more electronic gadgets, but that's more than my limited came with for a lot less. Reliability is why I bought a Tundra, but it'd be nice to at least get a decent sound system and head unit when spending $44k+ on a truck.

    See bold in quote.
Don't buy an SR5. You have a Steak appetite on a hot dog budget. Pony up. If it was the other way around, would you offer your top trim levels in the lower trim levels would you?

Sheesh dude. Take your anger out somewhere else. I owned a limited. The chrome was bothersome. Maybe an SR5 premium like the 4Runner with those options? It’s not that far fetched bud

All I'd really like in my 18 SR5...
    1. A key fob with a retractable/flip out key.
    2. Auto Up/Down Windows
    3. Better Head Unit/Sound System.
    4. Factory Tailgate Locking from FOB.

    What truck
So I'm not sure if you know this or not, I'm a huge vehicle guy. I know vehicles....and especially GMs. This is why I don't recommend them in the 1500 platform.

Links or it didn't happen...show me the money. I call BS on that pricing.

So you want to compare a 80K+ vehicle to whatever it is you have in the Tundra? That sounds reasonable.

I'm not mad. If you don't like the SR5, buy a limited.

Just an SR5 2018. It's got more stuff than I could use but sure would like to start it in the driveway in the winter.

This gives you options, unlike other manufacturers that just charge you for something you might not want. If you wanted a better remote start (which I would advise), you don't have to pay for it twice.

Do some research before you pay to have it enabled. The key in the ignition is rather annoying if you ask me (shuts down, and you have to restart it).

Like I said. An SR5 premium would be nice. The limited is too much chrome for me. You can’t assume everyone wants to start modifying their truck off the showroom floor. Give me a body color limited, I’m all for it.

I’m after a TRD PRO. I’ve owned a limited. I’d love to see power folding mirrors, 360 degree camera, cooled seats, and any sort of steering wheel with a visual appearance at all. All great things for a trim like that to have and warrants the price point.

I dont need all the other crap that brings the bill to 80k. I would gladly pay a few thousand more for the multi terrain and lockers. You can keep the high tech stuff.
