Background: I plan on bed lining my whole truck so I can wheel it and not worry to much about paint. Therefore I’m not worried about paint or mud flying up on the body.

When my Dad gave me the truck I was thinking I was going to take the fender flares off. They are old and one is cracked and they flap in the wind. Plus they wrecked the paint.

    What do you think?

Flare vote here as well! A good set of color matched flares make any truck look better.

This is about the only one with rust. Not too bad. Nothing even close to being rusted through. And it’s a 2008.

2002 5.3l ls. Tuned to 91 octane and torque management on the 4l60 has been disabled. Intake and shorties into dual 3” bullet muffs. Would dyno around 300hp.

If they are broken then take them off. Plus they may damage the linex just like they did the paint

When its linex'd it'll look badass without flared IMO

No need for flares if u line x entire truck. One thing we have done is to put flare on truck then trace outside of flare and line x up to it. Put flare back on and it doesn't rub through paint.

IMO, flares can look damn good if they DO NOT have gigantic frickin' silver rivets making the truck look tacky or they are not color matched and stand out like a sore thumb. Why anyone would get flares that are the opposite color of their truck is beyond me. It looks horrid... OK, I am off my soap box. How is the weather?

I would say without only since you wheel the truck. The flairs will come off eventually, just a matter of time.
