Im a newbie so bear with me. Im looking at replacing my stock muffler with a Flowmaster 44. I only want to replace the muffler itself and keep everything the same. Is it just a matter of cutting the stock pipes off in front of the stock muffler and fitting the new one on?

I suppose that'll work but you'll need adapters because the Toyota pipe is an odd size. Also you'll have a lot of drone so it may be wise to have your muffler shop fab up a tail pipe resonator for you and install that too

You’ll need to fabricate a y pipe if the appropriate size.

Are you just looking for sound? Or power too. I can build you just a muffler. It’s a little more than flowmaster but it will gain low end torque. And the sound will be whatever you want it to be since it’s custom made just for you.

I can also build you the y pipe.

    Give a call for details.

I would be interested in just the muffler for my 2018 5.7. I am honestly just looking for a bit more growl than what the stock offers and it may be some time before I decide to just go ahead and buy a complete system. I'm looking to do a number of other spendy mods before a full exhaust system so I would love to be able to ball on a budget with a muffler that'll give the truck more of a roar.:bikewheelie2:

I was hoping to just do a straight swap using the existing system. Mostly just want a better sound. It needs to be wallet, wife and neighbor friendly. I may upgrade to dual exhaust at a later date after I do the cold air intake mod.

I normally recommend single exhaust if running stock exhaust manifolds. And dual exhaust only for when you run long tube headers.

You should talk to Keith at dirtydeeds. Spend the extra cash to do it right. Even if you dont buy a full exhaust from him.
