The family and I are visiting Colorado Springs for the weekend and need some ideas of things to see and do. Maybe somewhere to get the tires dirty. We've got a 1 year old and the wife's pregnant so nothing too crazy. Thanks all!

We were talking about doing that but I was worried it would be rough on them. We're actually at Ft Carson visiting the brother in law

Def hike Garden of The Gods

    Awesome BBQ place to eat

Actually, we held an event there a few years back when a fellow CO TW (veteran) passed from cancer. Rudys supplied us with a private room for the raffle (All cash went to his wife) , and discounted food for everyone.

We did the Garden last time we were here and it was awesome. Thinking about going through Helen Falls (I think that's what it's called) and doing a festival tomorrow.

Go out to Divide, Hayman burn area. Fun and will not get the wife and kiddo all shook up. You can take Old Stage Road (stay off Eagle Rock trail no matter how tempted you are to go.) to Victor/Cripple Creek, or take Rampart Range Road out of Garden of the Gods to Woodland Park. Nice county drives there.

Might want to reconsider the Pikes Peak depending on how far the wife is along. Don't worry about your brakes, that is what first gear is for. I drove large trucks up to the top of Pikes Peak every day for 3 months and never had an issue.

There is a very nice zoo out there in the foothills. Kind of a hard walk around the zoo though. Nothing is level. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Closest one for me is 5 hours away in the Springs so when I see one I get all giddy.

Living in Pagosa, you have all the "Bass Pro" one can need. We were just there for two days. Town has changed.
