I only deal with Shannon Brady at Charles Maund for about 14 years and have had nothing but great service and honest pricing.

Sorry- was trying to show #3 priciest truck is a 2018 sr5 ($50k for cloth interior) behind a 2019 pro and platinum. Round rock Toyota is ridiculous with its pricing.

Oh - I didn't see the writing. Yeah, that (RR Toyota) pricing seems a little extreme. We drive past a few Toyota dealerships to deal with our guy at Charles Maund.

Years back, before the Tundra, I was using USAA to find us a new Camry. I can't remember the best price they found but they hadn't called Charles Maund so I called Shannon and asked if he could beat the price. He did, by quite a bit. In fact, when I called USAA from the dealership to get the insurance set up for the car, they asked how much it was. When I told her, she said "Wow! That's a good price."

But that was a Camry. When I ordered the Pro, there was no deal. I did get it for MSRP though. Oh, and when it came in, Shannon told me he grabbed the keys and hid them so nobody could test drive it. So that was appreciated.

The 1794 for $68k has to be a typo? You can get a king ranch f350 for that

Nope. There are some mods to it if you look in the comments (pretty much a small lift). I don't usually purchase my vehicles in Colorado Springs. The rather short trip to Denver usually gets a very good discount.

You can get a King Ranch F-350 without the diesel for close to that. Diesel, your in the mid 75-81,000.00

I do believe my last new truck purchase was in 2016. I just will not pay the price on these trucks....any of them. This is why I no longer daily drive trucks.

50K for a 1/2 ton makes me want to kick someone straight in the uprights.

80K for a diesel truck makes me want to pay someone 10K to kick me in the uprights.

When I retire in a few years, I plan on getting my auto salesman & wholesalers license. If I stay in Colorado, I will have Toyota/Lexus/Subaru vehicles rotating off my private lot. Diesel trucks will be order only.

Just looked at the Texas prices on king ranch f350. Cheapest was $71,285. It’s just a joke at this point with these prices. My dad bought a king ranch the first year they were offered for the super duties (2003) and it cost $41k.

Texas can get some pretty good pricing. 71K is probably a pretty basic KR F350. I found that out in 2016. I almost purchased one for 54K (tempting) but it was missing a lot of the features I wanted. I'm not a fan of the KR trucks, I'll take a Lariat Plus any day of the week before a KR.

I'm really thankful I didn't go the Ford route. My buddy has a 16' F350 and has done some really in depth repairs to it, 26K miles. (motor repair, complete front end repair, and now has a gremlin where all his gauge cluster either lights up or just dies). He offered to drive his truck the other day when we went riding, but I told him it was very important I get home on time..LOL. He just gave me the FO and we loaded up in my truck.

    38878156_10214942579751299_3587134811350761472_n.jpg

My truck hasn't been trouble free either. I had a wheel speed sensor that failed at 4K miles. The sensor wire routing is right by the spring pack and not secured. When I was out offroading my truck getting to my favorite shooting spot, I was flexing out the suspension pretty good and crushed the sensor cable. I guess this could be considered my fault, but the GM of the service desk said this was common. They now zip tie up all new trucks due to replacing so many. Fail on GM's part. Other than that, been good at 26011 miles (which isn't shit, but a good portion of those miles are towing).

This is getting out of hand. I'm part of the problem though as well. I purchased my GMC new, so I can't talk a whole lotta shit. I also know what people do to diesels with tuners, so there is that.

Surprising he’s had issues with the ford. They figured it out and went with the new turbo in 2015 which has been very successful vs the early 6.7’s. I bought a base Lariat for $50k even in 2015, and now you can’t even get an xlt for that price

Funny, we have had the total opposite experience. I'm the only one in my jeep crew that doesn't have a Ford. 32530732_696977593759628_7207695794093162496_n.jpg

This one is a 2011 F-250 with 98K miles and pulls heavy. No big issues, but his fair share of small annoying ones. He did have a exhaust leak that cost a grip of money.

A few others have 13 & 14' F-350s without a lot of problems. They have left them stock as well. This helps with the undersized turbo issues in the early 6.7L PS diesels. This is where people run into problems with diesels and tuning. Increasing injection pulse duration and undersized turbos never work long. My last diesel I spec'd everything to run 100HP sticks, built a 62/68/13cm turbo, port matched the head/header/turbo and that truck flowed well. I wouldn't see any boost until after 2000 rpm, and tried really hard to keep the manifold pressure under 45 psi. Of coarse my NV5600 couldn't hold that when towing and grenaded that POS. I had to drop down to 60hp sticks, which sucked since my turbine housing was spec'd for a lot more fuel. I should have just swapped out the housing to a 12cm one and spooled to the moon.

On the 15-16' trucks, when in REGEN, all the fuel dumps to the drivers side head. My friend was daily driving his truck for his construction business and seemed to always be in REGEN since the trips were never that long. Anyway, it burnt the valves on the head (probably washed the cylinders slightly as well). He had that fixed at 15K miles and went and purchased two F-150 2.7L EB trucks. His diesel is for towing only now. So far, so good engine wise.
Second issue was around 20K miles he was up in WY on a fishing trip with the family and got the dreaded death wobble. He called around and there's a recall on replacing the front end steering and track bar components. 6K miles on new front end and so far, so good.
Third issue is a gauge cluster just dying. I think he has traced it out to the foot brake relay. So when this happens, he uses the foot brake a few times and it usually comes back. Ford has been no help on this.
He pulls a 18' GN dump trailer and a 40' Toyhauler or a 18' flatbed with a LJ rock crawler.

Exactly. 90% of people in diesel trucks these days could get by with a Tacoma or less. :crapstorm:

I read those articles, pretty good right? Make's me want to get as many years as possible out of my investment. I used to DD trucks as well. However we found out even just with the Tacoma, it was killing us in fuel. Our average fuel bill is 600-750.00 per month.

It has gotten stupid, but fear not it will get worse. I was $42k for my sr5 crewmax TRD OR... I still feel like it was $4k too much. My 2015 Taco DC TRD sport is still selling for $25-$26k with 40k on it... I paid just over $30k for it. I keep my trucks for 10 years, but it looks like 2028 is going to hurt bad! What makes me puke is I just bought a 3 BR fixer upper for a rental and paid $53k for that!

Not sure what the point is. Truck prices are what they are. The fact that they have the SR5 (with Sport package) listed as 3rd expensive doesn't mean anything. It just means that they do not have a Limited or 1794 in stock.

My daily is 80 miles, the ladies is 60 miles. This is just for work, no fun. Now add in I work 14-15 days a month without vacation (which I take at least two days off per month stating in March-Sept), I go Jeeping and now dirt biking. Adds up quick. I have put close to 40k miles on my Lexus in 2 years and 26k on the truck.

Looked into buying a new Tundra SR5 4x4 Cement back in the spring with drop in liner, running boards, and all weather mats. $44k out the door on semi-final negotiations which never materialized due to me backing out. It just wasn’t the right time for me even though the 729 Tax Code is highly advantageous this year. You still have to earn/churn those dollars that get written off.

The other deal breaker for me was our local vehicle tax (personal property) would ping at about $2000 the first year and taper off slowly each sucessive year. Thats almost half a vehicle cost in 10 years!

So, now thanks to the help and ideas here on this forum I re-invested into the 02’ (157 k miles) for another 3 years. Actually, I’m probably going to run it into the ground whenever the Lord sees fit.

Someone above mentioned selling used cars. Sounds like a good idea if you can do a little wrenching. Local Creggsliss posting and sold in a weeks time. Same year and miles as mine. Sold for $8400.

They will be crazy expensive, especially the 2019's. There is a lot of room for negotiation on the "loaded" models. I would bet someone could get that 2018 for somewhere in the low 40's.

Edit: I just noticed, I don't think that 2018 in the picture is an SR5. It has the TRD bed decals and the alloy wheels.

I looked for 729 tax code and didn't see it? 179 is where you could potentially depreciate it 100% in year one, but the crewmax won't let you due to the short bed. Either way I am with you on the fact it only works if you are making the $$$$.

I know what it comes with..I have the one with the actual TRD sport as a trim level, the sequoia.
Which you can get for that price.
50 is a joke for the tundra “TRD sport”
