Craptors. It was a bold play by Ford and they deserve some credit for looking at what their customers do to trucks and offering a factory version. The cost of the upgrades in part value vs the purchase price is a huge profit gain. Bravo Ford.

They're a bit ugly I think, like something the producers of X-Games would love. If you have 70k to spend on an off road truck just get a Tundra and give Total Chaos you kids college fund. You'll be better off.

I had never owned a truck before my Tundra. I had a 3rd kid coming along and my 7 series wasn't going to cooperate. I knew that these full sized trucks have more space in them than any cars around. I was hesitant to buy a truck, not knowing whether I'd like it or not. I was dead set on a raptor till every dealer within a few hundred miles wanted a $10K minimum markup. Everything I had seen was that tundra's resale value was insanely good, so i made the purchase. I now will never live without a truck, but a raptor is still in my vision.

I love my tundra, don't get me wrong. But there's a few things I don't like.

    1. It's uncomfortable as hell on long drives for me.....not a surprise coming from a 7 series
    2. The bells and whistles just aren't there.....the new chevy's and ford's far exceed us in that department

Now, for many, these aren't issues, some will say I want a "truck" not a fancy featured filled vehicle.

A Raptor however will be in my future most likely, but I am happy with my tundra, it's legit the best all around vehicular purchase i've made....and I will never not have a truck in my stable going forward.

Actually... nope. I used to be on the F150 forum. Never did I hear negative stuff about the Tundra. They were too busy saying how big a piece of shit their own trucks were.

They are very slow trucks. I try to ruin their day every chance I get. And that is pretty often here in Detroit.

Some guy at work has a brand new one. I think it looks bad ass personally.
I would possibly consider one if they get the eco boost out of it. But then I hear talk of a 7.0. Is that a new engine for ford?
Probably is and that’s the issue. The big 3 is CONSTANTLY coming up with the latest and greatest and never refine something like 5.7 and make it extremely reliable.

You probably sould service the suspension in your raptor. Neglecting high end shocks can get reall expensive.

I had the last yr model original Raptor with the 6.2L. It was a good truck. Drove it a year and half and put 26000 miles on it, dealer bought it back from me for 300 less than i paid for it so they could resale it again. Went to the Ford Diesel. I had 2 of them over the next 2 years. The eco (def) filter is killing the performance of the truck. Both trucks sputtered while driving. I got rid of the first one thinking I had a lemon. The second did the same thing.

Next came the 2018 Ford Raptor in Silver. Great looking truck IMO. Traded it in six months later for my first Tundra--1794 Crewmax White 2018.
The Raptor would backfire for no reason. The eco boost engine sucks.

People keep talking about how expensive they are because if you want it with a decent stock radio, etc you will pay $69k and up.

My first Ford (in fairness it was a Fusion) was my last Ford. After losing 75% of it's value in 4 years I traded it and two rolls of duct tape in toward my first Tundra. Haven't looked back.

That tundra got totalled 2 years and 20,000 miles later, and insurance paid out $1k less than I paid for it. I bought another Tundra.

I had a Ford Ranger step side inline 4. Transmission split after 90,000 miles. Me and Ford have split ways since then. Wouldn't trade my Tundra for a Raptor.

I forgot to mention these truck's, they are done by a company called fox river customs and sold at the RAM dealership, this place is the only one I know that mopar will honor their warranty's on.

here is the list of custom lifted vehicles, last year I was drooling over one of the lifted 2500 Cummings trucks.

here is my favorite right now.

Great point. In my region, a comparable package to my Tundra Crewmax TRD, in a GM 1500 was another $4-$6,000. I guess some buyers value the latest and greatest over tried and true, even though they loose their butt on value later on. It kinda reminds me of the iPhone. It does all these fancy crazy things that my old Nokia couldn’t hold a candle to, but man, the actual function of the phone isn’t even close to the Nokia. Dropping calls, signal sucks or freezes up. If it can’t even do its basic function of intended purpose, it’s not for me. I like to think of my truck in a similar matter. Give me reliability and dependability over gizmos and gadgets any day of the week.

From my brief experience of being in a Platinum, the seats are more comfortable than Limited in my opinion. You may want to check it out for your next truck.

If I were wealthy, I would definitely buy a Raptor! Why, because I love pickup trucks and I would add to my collection of pickup trucks. However, I am not wealthy and I work for a living. Therefore, I have to be practical and wise with my spending. I can't afford the high price Raptor, nor, can I afford to maintain a Raptor and replace my truck every two years. Hence, I have a Tundra. The best bang for the buck. The most reliable and the best truck money can buy. The best truck to own for the long term!!! Toyota trucks (Tundra, Tacoma, Hilux), have been battle tested all around the world. I have personally seen them perform on the battlefield in Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Korea, Germany/Europe, etc. I have commandeered a Toyota pickup truck once in Afghanistan so that my battle buddies could flee insurgents and live to fight another day!

I would/could never do that with a Ford (Raptor), Dodge Ram, or Chevy Silverado!!! That's all I have to say about the matter!:oldglory::infantry::infantry::infantry:

That's a whole lot of "Murica right there buddy. I almost stood up, covered my heart and recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Make me proud, and I mean that.
