This was my solution to the lack of storage space in the 2018 crewmax. I used half inch plywood (3layers) some good prep trays and wrapped it in felt. Not sure if I’m going to paint the trays yet or not.

Really like that! Do you have the dimensions of the trays? Definitely stealing your idea

Very nice! Wish I had the time to build something like that! Instead I just ordered mine from ESP.

    Nicely done!
Put some heating elements under those trays and you can cater food for a Tundra get-together :)

Nice job. I think painting those containers would be pretty cool as well.

I decided on a tool box instead of doing the underseat storage.

Yea thinking about putting some bedliner on them or some kind of textures paint just don’t want them to get scratched up and look like crap in a month.

I would think bed liner would be good. Gives texture to hold stuff from sliding around and protection from scratches throwing stuff in and out.

Is the plywood really necessary? Could you just cut out for the individual containers and drop them in?

I used 4in deep trays and the foam isn’t thick enough so they sit above the carpet about 1.5 in so the plywood is so everything is flush and has clean lines

Awesome idea.. they do sell a 2.5 in that would sit flush.. since the 4” sits 1.5 in higher than the foam.
I might want to add a cover wrapped in felt.
    Definitely stealing this idea.
    Thanks for the post.

What’s nice about the 4in is that when you put the seat down it acts as a lid and sits flush on top of the container.51D2B0FA-0FFA-474D-866E-330C15EDE1EB.jpg

That is nice. But wouldn’t you be able to use a piece of ply wood (same thickness) as a cover for the bins and it’ll also sit flush?

Let’s say you need to put something in the back seat with the seats up. You’ll have a flat surface instead of bins with stuff in it to put it on top of?

Love the resourcefulness of this!!!! I'm trying to figure out a way to make a true fold flat floor in the back seat from the back almost up to the rear of the front seat and console.

Yearly can buy lids that fit these bins as well but I don’t see an issue just putting whatever you gotta put in the back just right on top

Hi fellow Tundra devotees. I am totally steeling this idea as well. I just wanted to share where I bought the steam trays online. Shipping was damn near what the trays cost but this was the best deal online by far. If your interested.

So I copied Rhernandez09 rear under seat storage idea. Thanks for the Idea.
Here are my photos from state to finish and sketches with dimensions. I reduced the 2” front and rear dimensions to 1 1/2”. I really like the way it turned out. I sprayed the trays with Flex seal. It’s lila a waterproofing bedliner black finish.

I used Flex seal. It is like a bedliner coating/waterproofing spray.flex_seal_black_liquid_rubber_spray-1000x1000.jpg

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
That's super cool. Thanks for sharing. Question: Got any raddles yet. I'm wondering if a thin padded inlay on the pans, is needed...
Sorry didn't see the flex seal added till I posted this.
