Hi guys, Im new here, never own a truck before. but Im about to trade in my 2015 forester xt for a 2018 TRD offroad. Got a 39K quoted for the new tundra and about 14.5K for my trade in. Im ready to pull the trigger but still debating if I should wait few months for the 2019 TRD Pro. Thoughts???

Welcome. Since Pros come with a premium price tag it doesn't seem worth it to me. Just my 2 cents.

I would go 2017 PRO. Stay away from the TSS. Just my opinion.

Welcome. Tough call, kinda depends on what mods you're likely to make.

I would wait for the 2020 truck if you can. Hopefully it will be a full redesign as ground breaking as the '07 was when it came out.

Another thing to consider, you will have to change your username if you go with the 19 Pro instead.

Save even more $ and get a 2018 SR5 4X4 with the SR5 upgrade and spend the money saved in a better suspension! The OR TRD comes with the 4600 Bilsteins, spend a $1000 and get the Bilstein 6112 and rear 5160's!

From what I've been seeing is they are giving near $10,000 off the 18's!

Totally agree. Also, as much as I love my ‘16 Pro, I’d lean toward a TRD OR and build it up to what you want/need. Just to avoid that fake hood scoop on the ‘19... :sawzall:

I would go with the OR, but it really depends on what you want in a truck. I've owned several trucks, so I know what I care about and what I can live without, and the OR was 99% perfect for me.

Make sure you keep us updated with what you end up getting!

I just "built" me a TRD Pro on the website and it said the VooDoo wasn't available yet, only white and black.

Thanks everyone on the inputs. Talked to the dealership yesterday so basically no incentive or watever on the 19 trd pro. they should be rolling in sometime next week or so. So far best I got on the 18 trd OR is about 38.8K. The 2019 prob wont get as much as incentive as the 2018 model year.
Not sure which mob im gona do yet, I just need a truck to haul my boston whaler.
As now im leaning toward the 18 trd offroad.

Yes! That’s what I did, silver contrast stitching on my Trd OR. Heated too.
    And leather steering wheel.

    Hello,
So I end up with a 2018 off road Tacoma. Pretty happy with the purchased.
The reason, the tunda is a lot bigger than what I need, plus the kids r having problem trying to get in and out the truck even with a side step.
Its still a white trd off road. Cheers

Pro is overpriced, what about an older 3rd gen with low miles like 2015-2017? They will be cheaper unless you want the pro just to make people think you’re cool. I bought my 2014 limited used with 8000 miles for $38,000, then put king shocks on it and can do the same thing a more expensive trd pro can do, never trading in that sumbitch

The Pro's are cool but with no dealer discount, they are kind of overpriced for what you get. I also agree with BlueKnights75 in that I personally don't want any of that TSS's BS either so I'd rather have a pre-'18 model. Lastly, I wouldn't waste your money on the "Off-Road" package either. I have an OR model and trust me, the "extras" included in that package aren't worth shit.

If money is no object, get the platinum package. Add an exhaust, suspension and wheels/tires of your choice and replace the grill if you want and you will end of with a truck that is better then the Pro.

If you have more of a realistic budget, get the SR5 with the Upgrade Package (Buckets w/center console and larger fuel tank) and then make it yours from there.

Company called dealer source ltd- its a shop that does leather for all the dealerships around here.. without working through the dealer for pricing.
