@TomyTun and I were talking earlier.

What cooler does everyone use when camping and hunting to keep your kill fresh until you can get it out of the woods?

    Deer
    Pig
    Bear
    Etc?????

100 quart Cabela's polar cap. Quartered deer and back straps total about 150lbs fit with plenty of room for ice

I don’t put whole whitetail in a cooler - I would hang if I could, or bone out in camp if I couldn’t. A Yeti 65 is plenty big to hold 2 hind quarters, backstraps, tenderloins, front roasts and extra meat from the neck and wherever, plus ice.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
Used the Igloo Spotrsman 100qt for years...never failed. Has a nice little trap door to quickly add ice if I'm not taking the meat to a processor for a few days.

Bought a couple of the Magellan coolers in past few years, for when I may not have easy access to ice (i.e., back-country elk hunt). Again, no issues. Love the designs/features

Hunting in Montana, no cooler needed.

Colorado...dry ice and the biggest one you can afford.

I've placed a fairly good sized Mule Deer in a 70 qt cooler before. It all just depends on what you're interested in doing. The igloo marine coolers are amazing and a cheap alternative compared to your typical molded coolers (yeti, grizzly, rtic, etc).

Yep.....this^^^^^. Out here in CO and much of the west with low humidity and cooler temps in the fall there's no need to quarter up a deer kill immediately. Elk pretty much has to be quartered and hung. Even as a kid hunting in Nevada in Oct our bucks would hang a couple days in the barn. In the shade and cool. Meat needs to cure a couple days before processing. Never freeze it. Obviously in more warm humid climes you should still hang it overnight if possible and get it chilled or in a cool dry place asap. I don't need a large cooler. Brains, heart, and liver goes in a small cooler right away. I'm at the butcher usually less than 24hrs anyways.
