Hey guys, figured I would start a thread for those of us who have boats to showcase them as well as some of the neat and useful mods that we have done to them and hopefully share some advice and tips to make life on the water a little more enjoyable/practical.

I come from a long line of fisherman/hunters so naturally my boat is mostly used for navigating the bays where I live in search of redfish and speckled trout, but I also enjoy taking it to the island and relaxing.

In preparation for this summer I recently added mounts for my push pole, installed a bigfoot 2 extended handle for my trolling motor, installed some new JBL 6 1/2" marine speakers into the center console, and hit the outside of the boat with some hull cleaner and polish. What have you done to yours?

 

Cancelled charter due to rainy weather.
Serviced PowerPole and got some tarpon crabs for tomorrow.

Thanks man, same to you! Totally jealous that you are a guide, that is my dream job! Got a great deal on this boat, but a Pathfinder or a Hewes is definitely at the top of my list when it's time to upgrade!

Joined the CCA a few weeks ago so I could fish the STAR tournament this year, and I bought a few tickets for a Hells Bay raffle in October. Fingers crossed lol.

 

Went to the lake, did some fishing and spent some time with my wife and daughter

 

I need to get mine out and see why I don't have any spark. Lost it last year and never got it fixed before winter came.

I bought this little boat last year for $2,000 just to see if I like boating and we love it, I have considered buying a bigger boat but this one is so reliable and easy to maintain and is just the right size for me and my wife and daughter. Not only that when I go look at boats I can't believe the poor condition people keep their boats. I think i would probably really regret if I ever get rid of this little boat so I think if anything I may get a bigger boat someday but keep this one also because I'll never replace e it for what I have into it.

Raced the one in my avatar Saturday. Going to pick up mud boat from shop tomorrow. Pulling Sunfish out this afternoon to check trailer before taking to beach.

 

I live in New Orleans.

Met my wife racing sailboats so she is on the right page there and she likes to watch the dogs run so duck boats are OK too.

Just got back Friday night from doing Pensacola Florida to Isla Mujeres Mexico race. 555 miles straight across the Gulf of Mexico.

finally got on the new boat

 

Got the new boat wrapped.

 

Yesterday I flushed old green coolant and filled it with the fancy orange SeaDoo coolant. I can't believe how many times I had to flush it with water until I got ALL the green coolant out. It took forever. I also changed the oil and sparks, put the battery back in, replaced the strut for the storage container, and some other little things.
Next on the list is to pick up a new CD player with Bluetooth/USB/iPod, new speakers, and maybe a new speedometer ($360, ugh) since the needle is stuck. I don't use the speedometer anyway, but it bugs me that it doesn't work as it should.

 

Not today but did some Kokanee fishing over the weekend. That's about all I seen other then one large mouth bass just messing around at the boat ramp waiting for boats to move out the way.

I did get out yesterday, 92°, no clouds, not many people on the lake. It was a good day, got the tube out too! Didn't take any pictures though.

 

Finally got around to repairing a couple gashes in the gel coat. Sanded it down, filled it, applied a new layer of gel coat (which is always fun to work with lol) and wet sanded to a smooth finish.

 

My wife and daughter and I had a nice Monday at the lake, we had the lake almost all to ourselves

 

More pictures! I want a boat pretty bad and always have. Now that we are building a home near a lake, I think I'm going to have to do it. I'm going to buy used though.
